摘要： A method for recording and reproducing a video format signal on and from a recording medium. A two-dimensional screen is divided based on the video format signal into a plurality of blocks with one of them being divided into a plurality of subblocks, and video information or information compressed on a time basis is inserted into each of the subblocks. Video information and control information are inserted in the remaining blocks while recording the information on the recording medium. The information in at least one of the subblocks is written into memory in a reproduction mode, and thereafter the information in the at least one subblock is read out of the memory while expanding the information on a time basis, and simultaneously writing the information next to the information in the at least one subblock into the memory, whereby the information in the at least one subblock and the next information can successively be reproduced.

The record information is divided into a plurality of first data groups (30: VOBU), each of which is a unit able to be accessed by the information reproducing apparatus, recorded on the record track. Lowest reading rate information (212) indicates a minimum requirement of a reading rate for the information reproducing apparatus to reproduce a reproduction unit, which comprises at least one of the first data groups and which is to be reproduced by the information reproducing apparatus such that a sequential logical meaning of the reproduction unit is continuous. The lowest reading rate information is recorded on the record track at one portion (LI, 11, 41) different from another portion where the record information is recorded.

摘要： A transmitting method of digital data whereby information data can be reproduced at a high precision. In order to retain digital data in sectors comprising a plurality of sync frames and sequentially transmit, the sync frame is comprised of the sync signal and the run length limited code which satisfies the limitations of the minimum run length and the maximum run length, and the sync signal includes the sync pattern constituted by a bit pattern of a run length that is longer than the maximum run length by only 3T and addition bit patterns which are arranged before and after the bit pattern and each of which has a urn length that is longer than the minimum run length. The sync signal includes a specific code which indicates a position in the sector and which enables the DC control to be performed.

The distribution information is reproduced only when the region indicated by the region information and the region indicated by the stream region information are coincident with each other.

摘要： In a digital-watermark superposing apparatus and a digital-watermark detecting apparatus, a plurality of DCT coefficients for respective frequency components are generated by subjecting video data to a two-dimensional DCT transform for each pixel block consisting of a predetermined number of pixels, and the value of at least one of the DCT coefficients is quantized in accordance with a quantization rule corresponding to the information so as to obtain a quantized DCT coefficient. A two-dimensional inverse DCT transform is performed with respect to the DCT coefficients in which the at least one DCT coefficient thereof is replaced with the quantized DCT coefficient, so as to obtain digital-watermark superposed video data in which the digital watermark corresponding to the information has been superposed on the video data. At this juncture, the digital-watermark superposed video data is selected and outputted concerning a section in which a video pattern due to the video data is not flatter than a predetermined video pattern, while, instead of the digital-watermark superposed video data, the video data is selected and outputted as it is concerning a section in which the video pattern due to the video data is flatter than the predetermined video pattern.
