    摘要: An image formation method and a thermal transfer sheet for use in the image formation method are provided. According to the image formation method and the thermal transfer sheet, an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising a substrate film and a transfer part, comprising at least a receptive layer, provided separably on the substrate film is used, and, at the time of the transfer of the transfer part in the intermediate transfer recording medium onto an object, the transfer of the transfer part onto the object in its nontransfer region, onto which the transfer part should not be transferred, can be avoided without installing any special ancillary tool on an image forming apparatus. In the method for image formation, a thermal transfer sheet comprising a substrate and at least a peel-off layer provided on the substrate is provided. Further, an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising a substrate film and a transfer part, comprising at least a receptive layer, provided separably on the substrate film is provided. The thermal transfer sheet and the intermediate transfer recording medium are put on top of each other so that the peel-off layer in the thermal transfer sheet is brought into contact with the transfer part in the intermediate transfer recording medium. The assembly is heated to remove the transfer part in its predetermined region from the intermediate transfer recording medium. The transfer part is then retransferred from the intermediate transfer recording medium onto an object. That is, the transfer part in its predetermined region in the intermediate transfer recording medium is transferred onto the thermal transfer sheet side provided with the peel-off layer and is separated from the intermediate transfer recording medium side.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method for image formation, that can yield thermally transferred images which are excellent in various fastness properties even under severe service conditions, and an intermediate transfer recording medium for use in the method for image formation. The method for image formation comprises the steps of: providing an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising a substrate film and a transfer portion provided separably on the substrate film; forming an image on the intermediate transfer recording medium in its transfer portion; transferring the transfer portion onto an object; and, thereafter, again transferring the intermediate transfer recording medium in its next transfer portion once or more onto the object with the image formed thereon. In this case, in the intermediate transfer recording medium, a hologram image is set every at least second image plane, and an image can be formed on the transfer portion having the hologram image. This can offer an advantage that the transfer portion, with a thermally transferable image formed thereon, can be transferred onto an object followed by the superimposition of a transfer portion, to be served as the outermost surface in the final form onto the transferred portion once or more to provide a strong film for protecting the thermally transferred image. Thus, the problems of the prior art could have been solved.

A method for image formation, comprising the steps of: using an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising: a sheet substrate provided with a resin layer; and a transparent sheet provided with a receptive layer, the sheet substrate provided with the resin layer having been put on top of the transparent sheet provided with the receptive layer so that the transparent sheet faces the resin layer, forming a transfer image in said receptive layer, then retransferring the transfer image formed in said receptive layer onto an object, half-cutting said transparent sheet including the receptive layer, forming the transfer image in said receptive layer in an area equal to or larger than a whole area of the patch portion surrounded by the half cut, which is transferred when the transparent sheet including receptive layer is retransferred to the object, separating only the patch portion in the transparent sheet including the image-formed receptive layer from said resin layer, and retransferring the separated patch portion with no blank in the edge thereof onto the object.

Even when stored or used for a long period of time, the hologram causes no unfavorable phenomena, such as bleeding, in the sublimation dye thermal transferred image and has excellent durability. A process for producing such a print with a hologram is also disclosed. In the production of the print with a hologram, a transferred image 2 of a sublimable dye ink or a combination of a transferred image 2 of a sublimable dye ink with a transferred image 3 of a hot-melt ink is provided on an image-receiving sheet 1. A protective layer 4 is provided by thermal transfer or other means on the transferred image so as to cover the transferred image, and, thereafter, a hologram layer 5 is thermally transferred from a thermal transfer sheet onto the protective layer 4, or a laminate including a hologram layer, for example, a heat-bondable hologram label (seal), is heated and pressed by a hot plate or a hot roll to heat-bond the laminate to the protective layer.

    摘要: This invention relates to a heat transfer sheet including a substrate film and a dye layer formed on the surface of the substrate film, the dye layer containing a dye and a binder resin and, if required, a release agent. The binder resin and/or release agent include a graft copolymer containing at least releasable segment selected from polysiloxane, carbon fluoride and long-chain alkyl segments grafted onto its major chain. According to this invention, there is provided a heat transfer sheet which enables an image of high density to be made at high speeds with neither adhesion between the dye layer and the dye-receiving layer nor peeling-off of the dye layer at the time of heat transfer and can produce an image on the surface of which a transparent film can be laminated.
