Abstract:
A clutch mechanism includes a friction clutch with a clutch spring, a clutch lever connected to the friction clutch via clutch wires and being manually operable against the urging force of the clutch spring, and a clutch assisting device. The clutch assist device has an assist mechanism having an auxiliary force member (e.g., a spring) that urges the clutch wires in such a direction as to disengage the friction clutch while the clutch lever is moved from a disengage start position, where the clutch lever receives the reactive force of the clutch spring, to a disengaged position, where the disengagement of the friction clutch is completed. The assist mechanism maintains the urging force of the auxiliary spring applied to the clutch wires within a fixed range while the clutch lever is shifted from the midpoint between the disengage start position and the disengaged position to the disengage position. The clutch assist device reduces the manual force required to operate the clutch while preserving the operational feel of the clutch lever when moving the lever from a released position to a half clutched position, to a full clutch position.
Abstract:
A two wheeled vehicle has a frame assembly. The frame assembly comprises a backbone style frame. A power unit is mounted to the frame. A space is defined between the power unit and the frame such than an auxiliary component can be positioned within the space.
Abstract:
A mobile communication terminal stores a plurality of response messages generated according to respectively different audio compression methods. If the mobile communication terminal is not answered when an incoming call is received, the mobile communication terminal transmits the one of the response messages that has been generated according to the audio compression method designated by a base station.
Abstract:
A cam face 81 and a cam face 181 are formed in such a manner that an angular velocity ω represented by the following equation increases when a parameter R increases and the angular velocity ω decreases when the parameter R decreases, ω2=(1/m)·[F(tan α+tan β)/R], where the mass of the centrifugal weight (41) is m, the revolution radius that is the distance from the rotation center (0) of the centrifugal weight (41) to the center of gravity of the centrifugal weight (41) is R, the angle formed by a radial line (L0) and a tangent line (L1) of a point of the cam face (81) being in contact with the centrifugal weight (41) is α, the angle formed by a radial line (L0) and a tangent line (L2) of a point in the cam face (181) being in contact with the centrifugal weight (41) is β, and the urging force of a Belleville spring that urges a roller retainer (78) is F.
Abstract:
A belt-type continuously variable transmission that prevents escape of noise generated by a resin block belt to the outside. The resin block belt is wound around a primary sheave and a secondary sheave. A transmission case defines a belt chamber accommodating the primary sheave, secondary sheave, and resin block belt. The transmission case includes an exhaust passage, intake passages, and a sound absorbing member. The sound absorbing member is attached to an inner wall of the exhaust passage in a position to collide with sound waves traveling through the exhaust passage. The sound absorbing member has a sound absorbing surface crossing an extending direction of the exhaust passage.
Abstract:
An engine having an engine case on one side of which a V-belt type of continuously variable transmission is provided, the CVT being placed in a transmission case and constituted that a V-belt is routed around a drive pulley and a driven pulley, the drive pulley being attached to one end of a crankshaft, the driven pulley being attached to one end of a transmission shaft parallel to the crankshaft, characterized in thatthe crankshaft is supported for free rotation with the engine case, one end of the crankshaft is projected in cantilever fashion from the engine case into the transmission case, the drive pulley is attached to the projected portion, and the transmission case is made as a component separate from or independent of the engine case and supported with the engine case so that a space is present between the engine case and the transmission case.
Abstract:
A clutch drive apparatus includes a clutch actuator and a drive force transmission mechanism that transmits the drive force of the clutch actuator to the clutch. The drive force transmission mechanism includes a case body and a case cover that is closed on the case body and supports the clutch actuator and a worm shaft. An opening is formed in the case cover to expose a marker member that determines a reference position of an auxiliary elastic body. A maintenance lid for covering the opening is mounted in a vehicle head pipe.
Abstract:
A friction plate (131) rotates in association with rotation of a pressure plate (77). A first pressing plate (132) presses the friction plate (131) to the right to move the pressure plate (77) to the right. A second pressing plate (133) receives a torque of the pressure plate (77) via the friction plate (131). A slide shaft (231) rotates together with the second pressing plate (133). The operation assist mechanism (220) gives a rightward force to the pressure plate (77), by the slide shaft (231) moving to the right upon receiving the torque from the second pressing plate (133). Balls (135) transmit a portion of the rightward force of the short push rod (43a) to the slide shaft (231) without use of the friction plate (131).
Abstract:
In a motorcycle having a V-belt type continuously variable transmission, a resin washer made of a nylon resin is interposed between a boss fixed to a moving sheave half of a secondary sheave and a spring bearing member. The boss contacts the spring bearing member through the resin washer, whereby the moving sheave half is restricted to a Top position, in which a spacing between it and a stationary sheave half becomes maximum. In this manner, the maximum speed is not changed by exchange of the V-belt, the V-belt does not slip or become considerably abraded or deteriorated, and noise generation is suppressed.
Abstract:
A noise preventing means for a motorcycle including a belt type continuously variable transmission using a resin block belt. An end of an intake duct for inducting cooling air into a belt chamber inside a transmission casing is connected to a front half part of the transmission casing. The intake duct extends upward from the transmission casing, then curves rearward, and extends rearward passing over a seat pillar. An air chamber is connected to a rear end of the intake duct. The intake duct has a curving part curving around the seat pillar.
