Abstract:
The present invention includes compositions and methods for treating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation having brine and at least one temperature, wherein the brine has at least one first composition by obtaining first compatibility information for a first model brine and a first treatment composition at a model temperature, wherein the first model brine has a composition selected at least partially based on the first brine composition, wherein the model temperature is selected at least partially based on the formation temperature, and wherein the first treatment composition comprises at least one first surfactant and at least one first solvent; based at least partially on the first compatibility information, selecting a treatment method for the hydrocarbon-bearing formation, and treating the hydrocarbon-bearing formation with the selected treatment method.
Abstract:
A conversion control system is described for spatially synchronizing data gathered from a plurality of operations performed on a web. The conversion control system applies a set of fiducial marks to a web, performs a plurality of operations on the web, generates a first and a second set of digital information for first and second operations, respectively, in accordance with respective first and second coordinate systems using the set of fiducial marks such that the each of the sets of digital information includes position data for respective first and second sets of regions on the web. The conversion control system may then register the position data of the first set of regions and the position data for the second set of regions to produce aggregate data and outputting a conversion control plan.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are backplane interconnect systems that use surface mount technology for mating conductive pins in a header connector to surface mount pads on a printed circuit board. In particular, the interconnect system uses a plurality of conductive pins that are not fully inserted into the body of the header connector, thus allowing them to move during mating with a printed circuit board. In this way, the interconnect system exhibits self-leveling characteristics.
Abstract:
A lightguide having opposing first and second major surfaces where the first major surface includes a plurality of extended features and a plurality of discrete features is described. The lightguide has a viewable area having a length at least 100 times a thickness of the lightguide. The extended features extend in a first in-plane direction across at least 90 percent of the length L of the viewable area. The discrete features are spaced apart along the length and width of the viewable area. The discrete features may be disposed in spaces between the extended features. The discrete features may have faces extending between and connecting adjacent extended features.
Abstract:
Substrates suitable for use in a touch sensor are described. In some cases, the substrates include an inner layer and first and second heat-set polymeric outer layers. The first and second outer layers each have an in-plane birefringence of less than 0.1. The inner layer is substantially uniaxially birefringent and has an in-plane birefringence greater than 0.01. In some cases, a substrate includes a block copolymer which includes a first polyester and second polyester. The first polyester has a melting point greater than 200 ° C., and the second polyester having a melting point less than 200° C. The block copolymer includes the second polyester at 50 to 80 percent by weight. The substrate is substantially uniaxially birefringent and has an in-plane birefringence between 0.001 and 0.1.
