    摘要: The invention relates to a digital burette having a manual drive for suctioning and applying an adjustable dose volume, a gear unit connected downstream and a digital display device controlled thereby for setting the dose volume. The control comprises an incremental encoder which is functionally connected to the gear unit, at least one sensor for detecting the signals produced by the incremental encoder and a processor connected to the sensor and the display device for calculating the dose volume corresponding to the number of signals. The incremental encoder is, in particular, a sector disc with two groups of sectors of different magnetic field strength disposed alternately in the peripheral direction of the sector disc. A sensor detects the number of turns of the sector disc. To save energy, the power supply of the burette is ensured by a solar cell and two spaced sensors are provided for detecting the number of turns of the sector disc to reduce the clock frequency of the processor for a same measuring accuracy. The invention also relates to a method for displaying the dose volume of such a digital burette.

    摘要: A pipettor uses no pistons in order to provide highly automated, precise and accurate pipetting operations. Additionally, a self-aligning pipette tip enables better engagement of such pipette tips by the pipettor. The pipette tips may be automatically engaged and locked into place by the pipettor and may be automatically disengaged to enable highly-automated pipetting processes for industrial and laboratory purposes. Open proximal ends of the pipette tips are engaged by a pipette block, which then forms a temporary seal with the individual pipette tips. Displacement of the pipette block with respect to the pipette tips increased or decreases the effective volume of the pipette tip allowing it to aspirate or expel fluids in a precise, accurate, and predictable way. Additionally, seals may be seated in grooves engraved in either the pipette tip or the pipette block to provide a sliding seal between the pipette block and pipette tip.

    摘要: A precision fluid dispensing system containing at least one two-piece pump and a precision closed loop controller drive system to address the small volume precision dispensing requirements of bioscience applications. A multiple diameter pump can be combined with a pump having multiple inlet and outlet ports to allow for precision multiple outlet dispenses in a single pump that finds use with microtiter plate pipetting and other precision dispensing. Inlet ports can be located on the smaller diameter of the cylinder with outlet ports on the larger diameter of the cylinder. A micro-controller with closed loop feedback provides exact linear positioning and motion of the pump piston as well as optional control of a nozzle to provide exact micro-dispensing of fluids.

The wrap spring clutch syringe ram includes an electric motor, a computer, a flywheel, a wrap spring clutch, a precision lead screw, a slide platform, and syringe reservoirs, a mixing chamber, and a reaction incubation tube. The electric motor drives a flywheel and the wrap spring clutch couples the precision lead screw to the flywheel when a computer enables a solenoid of the wrap spring clutch. The precision lead screw drives a precision slide which causes syringes to supply a portion of solution into the mixing chamber and the incubation tube. The wrap spring clutch syringe ram is designed to enable the quantitative study of solution phase chemical and biochemical reactions, particularly those reactions that occur on the subsecond time scale.
