摘要: This invention provides an ink mist type high speed printer in which an aperture board is provided between a first electrode and a second electrode across which a high voltage is applied. The aperture board is adapted to selectively control passage of ions generated from the second electrode, and a stream of ink mist is passed between said aperture board and first electrode so that the ions which have passed said aperture board will electrically charge the ink mist particles selectively to let the electrically charged ink mist particles deposit on a recording paper placed between the ink mist and first electrode to thereby print the desired dot matrix characters. This invention also features provision of electrostatic shields placed between said first electrode and ink mist stream and at places outside of the desired printing space to guard the aperture board against deposition of ink mist particles.

摘要: A micromist printing arrangement wherein a micromist of ink particles, provided by an ultrasonic nebulizer, is forced through a small nozzle to form an aerosol jet. The micromist ink particles are entrained in the jet and focused to print a narrow width region which is substantially smaller in size than the overall jet diameter and the nozzle opening. Particle size, jet stream velocity and air or other carrier gas viscosity are considered in establishing focusing characteristics of the aerosol jet, which is directed against the paper to wet the same, thereby obtaining dense, well defined print lines. According to a first embodiment, modulation of the aerosol jet is achieved by fluid logic control whereby a vacuum is introduced into the path of the aerosol jet to shunt it from its printing path. In another embodiment, control may be achieved through the use of sonic excitation of turbulence into the aerosol jet. The sonic excitation changes the aerosol jet from laminar flow to turbulent flow, resulting in a reduction of the velocity of the aerosol jet such that the aerosol ink particles do not wet the paper.

摘要: A method for fine adjustment of the position of ink drops printed by at least one printing head (12) of a printing device, the printing head (12) being a two-dimensional printing head (12) comprising a plurality of nozzles (30). In one method step, an ink drop is dispensed at a plurality of nozzles (30) of the at least one printing head (12) simultaneously to print an image, preferably at all nozzles (30) of the printing head (12). In another method step, the printed image is captured by a camera (20), wherein the camera (20) captures the pattern of dots printed by the printing head (12) and the captured pattern is compared to a pattern (36) of the nozzles (30) of the printing head (12). In a further method step, the dispensation of an ink drop from at least one nozzle (30) is modified in terms of timing with respect to the dispense of ink drops from the other nozzles (30) of the printing head (12) for the subsequent printing process if a deviation has been detected between the pattern (36) of dots printed by the printing head (12) and the nozzle pattern (36). Furthermore, a printing device is provided.
