    Abstract: A magnetic door opener device adapted to be positioned below a countertop made of non-magnetic materials, the device having a pair of magnets which attractively interact with a pair of magnets attached to the bottoms of a pair of windows which are suspended on a trolley for movement to or fro to determine closed and opened positions of the window. The device underneath the countertop comprises a pair of spaced toothed sprockets supporting an endless belt having inner and outer runs, the outer run supporting a magnet adapted to magnetically cooperate with a magnet in the bottom of one of the windows, and the other run of the belt supporting a different magnet adapted to attractively cooperate with a magnet in the bottom of the other window. A motor control and limit switches are provided for controlling the opening and closing positions of the windows when a control switch is operated by an operator. The belt has a plurality of apertures which, in conjunction with the teeth on the sprockets, prevent slippage and at the same time provide a means for adjustably positioning the magnets on the endless belt to thereby determine the size of the opening between the opened windows.

    Abstract: A retractable sliding door (10) with automatic alignment to the wall (12) during the closing phase, suitable to alternately open and close a through space (14) made along said wall, comprising a lower guide (18) fixed to the floor and an upper guide (20) forming a support beam. In the upper guide (20) paired prominences (50, 52) and (60) are made constituting the sliding tracks of two or more pairs of wheels (54) and single wheels (58) borne by a shaft (56) and combined with a frame (62) to form a carriage. The lower guide (18) interacts with a roller (24) suitable to fit into a shaped channel with a mixed-line extension (26) made along the lower head of the door (10); the upper guide (20) is provided with a shaped channel (78) having the same and parallel mixed-line configuration as said shaped channel (26).     Abstract: A vehicle barrier gate system which is positioned above a roadway through which vehicles pass. Some of the various embodiments of the present disclosure include a gate comprised of an arm and barrier which is adjustable between a raised position in which a vehicle may pass and a lowered position in which a vehicle is prevented from passing. The gate may be movably connected to a ceiling or an overhead support structure positioned above the roadway. Various types of actuators may be utilized to adjust the gate along a linear and/or angular path between the raised and lowered positions. A control unit may be in communication with one or more sensors and/or an authorization system to control the actuator. The gate may include a breakaway mechanism which allows the gate to be manually raised or lowered in the event of actuator failure or a vehicle ramming through the gate.

    Abstract: A safety device (200) is provided for a movable barrier system ((100). The safety device comprises a position sensor (210) mountable, in use, to or adjacent a barrier (110). A target (220) is mountable to the other of the barrier, such that movement of the barrier causes relative movement between the position sensor and the target. A controller (240) can communicate with the position sensor. The position sensor can detect movement of the target relative to the position sensor and output a signal to the controller. The controller can receive the output signal from the position sensor, determine one or more signal characteristics from the output signal, and compare the one or more determined signal characteristics with one or more predetermined signal characteristics to determine if the relative movement between the target and the position sensor is within a predefined range. A movement detection method is also provided.
