    摘要: A pressure proving gas valve insures safe and efficient operation of a fuel-burning appliance by monitoring combustion air pressure and appropriately controlling the valve based upon this air pressure. An air pressure sensor is incorporated into a pressure proving valve housing itself thus providing integrated solution for the control of the combustion process. Consequently, when heat is called for, no fuel is provided to the combustion chamber unless appropriate combustion air pressure is sensed. Further, by monitoring the actual air pressure, additional control capability is provided. That is, a variable speed blower associated with the combustion apparatus can be controlled to provide very precise fuel to air mixtures.

    摘要: An improved gas appliance having a burner, a gas valve through which the flow of combustion gas to the burner is controlled, and a motor driven blower that supplies combustion air to the burner. The improvement includes means for increasing gas flow through the gas valve as blower speed increases, and decreasing gas flow through the gas valve as blower speed decreases, based on a pressure signal generated independently of combustion air pressure. This improvement allows a constant ratio of gas to air to be maintained in the burner while a combustion flow rate varies dependent on the blower motor revolutions per minute. Thus input pressures of combustion can be controlled at low cost.

The invention suggests that the system be fitted with a voltage and speed regulator (11) for the electric motor (9), as well as a device for regulating the fuel pump (2) pressure after the heating system has ignited and the flame has become stable.

    摘要: Process is described for reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide from fuel gas fired boilers by using a computer to closely control the flow rate of combustion air and by installing a duct to allow flue gas to recirculate into the air intake of the boiler. In most cases strict emission standards can be met without making any other mechanical modifications to the boiler. A computer controller maps burner characteristics and controls both a variable speed drive and the damper on the combustion air fan, and a damper on recirculated flue gas to meet emission requirements over the various firing rates while maintaining a stable flame free of pulsations. In some burners a simple cone structure placed in the burner provides additional flame stability.

    摘要: In a fluid heating apparatus having a fluid tank, a combustion chamber communicating with the fluid tank for heat exchange, and a combustible fluid delivery system coupled to the combustion chamber, a plurality of valves are individually configured in either an off-state or an on-state for delivering combustible fluid to the combustion chamber. Depending on the configuration of the multiple valves, the rate at which combustible fluid is supplied to the combustion chamber may be varied in response to a heat demand signal. Individual valve signals are generated for each of the multiple valves in response to the heat demand signal to place the multiple valves in a configuration to supply combustible fluid at predetermined rates. The demand signal is calculated in response to reading temperature at an inlet temperature probe and an outlet temperature probe, wherein the outlet temperature probe is located nearer a fluid outlet from the fluid tank than is the inlet temperature probe. The heat demand signal may also be a function of the excess of a set point temperature over a temperature measured by the outlet temperature probe. An airblower may also be coupled to the combustion chamber and operated in a plurality of modes for supplying air at a plurality of rates in response to the heat demand signal. The rates of air supply provided by the air blower are selected to supply air at a stoichiometric rates in relation to the fuel supply rates provided by various configurations of the valves in the combustible fluid delivery system.
