    Abstract: A system for calculating a desired time of arrival to a target destination for a vehicle includes a device mountable to a first vehicle. The device includes a transmitter, a receiver, and a logic unit configured to receive signals for determining a current position and a current vehicle speed of the first vehicle, the logic unit being further configured to determine an estimated time of arrival at a target destination for the first vehicle based on predetermined route information, the current position of the first vehicle and the target destination of the first vehicle. The device is configured to transmit the estimated time of arrival at the target destination for the first vehicle, receive, from a second vehicle, an estimated time of arrival at the target destination for the second vehicle, calculate a desired estimated time of arrival at the target destination for the first vehicle based on the received estimated time of arrival at the target destination for the second vehicle, and calculate a desired vehicle speed for the first vehicle for achieving the desired estimated time of arrival at the target destination for the first vehicle.

    Abstract: A system for planning material dumping operations includes one or more machine controllers and a dump zone controller. Each of the one or more machine controllers are configured to provide dump planning information for the one or more machines and configured to determine actual dump information for dumping operations of machines. The dump zone controller is communicatively coupled with each of the one or more machine controllers and configured to initialize a dump zone. The dump zone controller is configured to plan an array of dump locations at the dump zone, each dumping location associated with a dumping operation. The dump zone controller is further configured to update the array of dump locations based on the actual dump information, the updated array of dump locations including, at least, updated dump location instructions, the updated dump locations based, in part, on the array of dump locations and the actual dump information.

    Abstract: A control system for operating a machine includes a perception system and a controller. The perception system includes sensors that generate raw data signals pertaining to characteristics of an environment associated with the machine. The perception system also includes a processor that receives the raw data signals from the sensors and determines the characteristics of the environment from the received raw data signals. The determined characteristics of the environment include at least terrain features associated with a job site, and a presence of objects in the vicinity of the machine, wherein the objects include one of: stationary objects and moving objects. The processor also determines a current operating mode of the machine. The controller is communicably coupled to the processor and is configured to actuate subsequent operation of the machine based on the current operating mode of the machine and the characteristics of the environment determined by the processor.

    Abstract: An arrangement and method for optimizing load position in relation to a plurality of transportation vehicles comprising at least one master vehicle and at least one slave vehicle, the arrangement comprising a platform arranged to the at least one slave vehicle for receiving a load; an actuating device of the at least one slave vehicle for moving the platform in relation to the at least one slave vehicle; a sensing device configured to generate a vehicle sensing signal and/or a non-vehicle sensing signal; an a controlling device of the at least one master vehicle. The controlling device is configured to receive at least one of the vehicle sensing signal and the non-vehicle sensing signal; generate controlling commands based on the received at least one of the vehicle sensing signal and the non-vehicle sensing signal; and transmit the controlling commands to the actuating device, wherein the actuating device is configured to receive the controlling commands and to move the platform in relation to the transportation vehicle based on the controlling commands.
