Abstract: An automatic driving vehicle includes an automatic driving mode in which autonomous traveling is carried out. The automatic driving vehicle receives a setting for a behavior after getting out from the automatic driving vehicle. The setting includes information of a destination and a time period and/or a clock time which are designated by a user of the automatic driving vehicle. The automatic driving vehicle is controlled based on the information to automatically drive to the destination by an appointed time.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for controlling a functional road object. For example, at least one processor receives road sign attribute data indicating at least one attribute of a road sign and receives weather forecast data indicating a weather forecast of a location in which the road sign is disposed. The road sign includes at least one machinery for mitigating exposure to one or more weather conditions. The at least one processor identifies a state of visibility for the road sign using the road sign attribute data and the weather forecast data and generates a control signal for controlling the at least one machinery using the state of visibility.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for early detection of objects by a perception system of a vehicle, and triggering a precautionary action by the vehicle in response without waiting for a more precise detection. The vehicle has a multi-level sensor range, wherein a first level of the sensor range is adjacent an outer bounds of the sensor range and has a first confidence value, and a second level of the sensor range is within the first range and has a second, higher confidence value. In situations when oncoming traffic is traveling at a high rate of speed, the vehicle responds to noisier detections, or objects perceived with a lower degree of confidence, rather than waiting for verification which may come too late.

Abstract: An avoidance control unit performs, as collision-avoidance control for causing an object that exists ahead of an own vehicle and the own vehicle to avoid a collision with each other, one or both of automatic steering control for changing a traveling direction of the own vehicle by controlling a steering device of the own vehicle, and automatic braking control for reducing a traveling speed of the own vehicle by controlling a braking device of the own vehicle. A situation determination unit determines whether a low-friction situation, which is a situation where a road-surface frictional coefficient of a road on which the own vehicle becomes low, has occurred. A changing unit causes the avoidance control unit to start the collision avoidance control at an earlier timing at a time when the situation determination unit determines that the low-friction situation has occurred than a timing at a time when the situation determination unit determines that the low-friction situation has not occurred.
