    摘要: A receiving system dynamically searches the communications band for transmissions of messages having the same nominal communications parameters, including the use of the same spreading code, but having potentially different specific frequencies and code-phases. The receiver, which is independent of the transmitters, samples the communications band at each code-phase of the spreading code over a span of downconverted transmission frequencies. When a message element is detected at a particular code-phase and frequency, it is forwarded to a demodulator that demodulates the message and sends it to its intended destination. In a preferred embodiment, a progressive Fourier Transform is used to incrementally determine the power level at each successive code-phase at a given frequency, thereby substantially reducing the time required to search for transmissions at each discrete code-phase. To accommodate variances in frequency and/or phase of a received signal from the same transmitter, the received signal is partitioned into subsets, and a composite measure is used to detect subsets that ‘slip’ into an adjacent frequency or phase sampling bin.

    摘要: A receiver for use in a wireless communication system includes a voltage controlled oscillator and estimating means for obtaining a frequency estimate to adjust the voltage controlled oscillator, thereby correcting an oscillator frequency error. The estimating means performs a number of block correlations on a received signal with a known midamble reference. The output of the block correlators are conjugately multiplied and summed to produce a low-variance estimate of the phase change between correlators. A number of the largest summed values are located, and the located values that exceed a detection threshold are summed to provide a single complex number whose angle is an estimate of the phase change between the correlators.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for correcting frequency offset of a local oscillator in a direct sequence spread spectrum receiver such as Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS). Received signals comprise a plurality of sequential slots of data. At least one of these includes synchronization data. A correlation is performed between this received data and a locally stored synchronization code. Subsequently, the received data is phase adjusted and a further correlation performed between the phase adjusted data and the locally stored synchronization code. The strongest correlation peak is then determined and a phase offset to be applied to the local oscillator is estimated from the phase adjustment required to produce the strongest peak. This is subsequently applied to the local oscillator.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for configuration of a compressed mode in a mobile radiocommunication system. Said method comprises a configuration of a compressed mode defined by means of the parameters for the compressed mode, said parameters for a compressed mode including a transmission gap length (TBVL) and a transmission gap pattern length (TGPL). Said transmission gaps are defined in a first transmission time structure specific to a first system and determined relative to a second transmission time structure specific to a second system to permit measures for the second system to be taken in the first system. A configuration of a compressed mode is determined within said method such that, for each reference configuration, if the duration of the TPGL is such that the transmission gaps occur periodically with fixed position in said second structure, then the TGL is selected to be sufficiently large that two transmission gaps occur in two of said positions, the closest of which overlap each other with an overlap duration long enough to carry out a measure.
