摘要: Method of lining a tubular structure with a plastics liner pipe comprising the steps of: —temporarily reducing an outside diameter of the liner pipe by passing the liner pipe through a roller system; —cooling the liner pipe once its outside diameter has been reduced and applying a thermal restraint; —transporting the liner pipe to an installation site remote from the roller system; —removing said thermal restraint; and —installing the liner pipe in said tubular structure at said installation site.

摘要: An evertable extended liner comprising a liner and an extender-tube that are joined to form a continuous tubular entity. When a pressurising fluid is introduced into the interior of the extended liner it is caused to evert and extend progressively, the uneverted part of the liner passing through the interior of the extended liner, being drawn progressively in direction forwards towards the point of eversion. By this process the liner and the extended liner may be caused to evert into a pipe being lined where the liner may subsequently be formed against the inner surface of the pipe by means of fluid pressure which may be applied directly or by a separate pressurisable tube, following which means for applying fluid pressure are removed and the extender-tube is detached from the liner.

摘要: A method and apparatus are shown for lining a tubular member with an elastomeric liner having an outside diameter which is initially greater than the inside diameter of the tubular member and a length which is greater than the length of the tubular member. A length of the liner is reduced to a downsized outside diameter and inserted into the tubular member to be lined. The liner is allowed to expand to substantially its original outside diameter to thereby bond the liner within the tubular member, the liner opposite ends still extending outwardly from the opposing ends of the tubular member. The outside diameter of the liner opposite ends is then increased to approximately the outside diameter of the tubular member by heating and reforming that portion of the liner opposite ends which extends outwardly from the opposing ends of the tubular member.

摘要: Tube to be introduced in a pipelike cavity, and where the forward end of the tube is secured to the entrance to this cavity, and the following part of the tube is introduced through this forward end by a turning inside out, and where the tube to facilitate this operation in its internal layer, which after the introducing turns outside, has build-in compression stresses and/or in its outer layer, which after introducing turns inward, has build-in tension stresses.

摘要: A section of conduit is insulated by a thermoplastic outer pipe and an insulating layer of foamed or beaded insulating material disposed in the annular space between the outer pipe and the conduit. The annular layer is preformed to substantially the size of the annular space, then the outer pipe is heated to cause expansion of its diameter and facilitate insertion of the annular layer within the outer pipe. The inner pipe, or the conduit, may also be thermoplastic and may be cooled to cause contraction to facilitate insertion of the annular layer over it. After the outer pipe and inner pipe have returned to ambient temperature, the annular layer is retained within by a shrink fit, without chemical bonding between the annular layer and the pipes. Sections of the pipe are joined by simultaneously heating the ends of the inner pipe, annular layer, and outer pipe, placing the ends of one section against the ends of the other section, and allowing them to fuse while cooling.

摘要: Plastic lined pipe and fittings are prepared by forming a liner of a plastic material having a diameter greater than the inside diameter of the pipe or fitting to be lined, reducing the diameter of the liner by hydrostatically swaging the liner and inserting the swaged liner into the pipe or fitting and permitting the plastic memory of the liner to cause expansion and form an interference fit of the liner with the pipe.
