An object of the present invention is to provide a block copolymer having the excellent improving characteristics. Specifically, the block copolymer is a hydrogenated block copolymer capable of obtaining a molded product, as a polyolefin based resin composition, having excellent physical property balance between impact resistance, in particular, low temperature impact resistance and rigidity, and molding processability, and further, capable of providing, as a viscous adhesive composition, a composition having an excellent balance between adhesion characteristics such as adhesive power and retentivity, and having excellent melt viscosity stability under heating at a high temperature. Described are a thermoplastic resin composition containing (A): one or more rubber reinforced thermoplastic resins, (B): one or more acrylic resins and (C): one or more thermoplastic norbornene resins, and further containing (D): one or more styrenic resins other than (A) and (E): coloring agents as needed, and a shaped article obtained by forming the composition. Described thermoplastic resin composition is excellent in heat resistance, strength and processability, and excellent in laser marking properties, so that it is useful for various applications.

A rubber modified polystyrene composition comprising polybutadiene particles dispersed in polystyrene, wherein the polybutadiene particles have an average volume particle diameter of 6 to 13 microns, and the composition has a gel content of 25 to 35% by weight and a degree of swelling of 13 to 22, is prepared by polymerizing the polybutadiene particles in the presence of styrene. The rubber modified polystyrene composition of the present invention may be used for components contacting flon compounds, such as components of refrigerators.

The present invention is a blend of a monovinylidene aromatic polymer, a rubber modified monovinylidene aromatic polymer, and a monovinyl aromatic-conjugated diene copolymer, which can be used to produce cost effective, transparent packaging materials with a good toughness, which materials can be produced using conventional thermoforming equipment. The blend comprises: a) from 49 to 70 weight percent based on the total weight of the blend, of a monovinylidene aromatic polymer having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from 210,000 to 400,000 and a melt flow of less than 12.0 g/10 min.; b) from 20 to 50 weight percent based on the total weight of the blend, of a rubber modified monovinylidene aromatic polymer comprising a monovinylidene aromatic polymer matrix having rubber particles dispersed therein, wherein the rubber particles comprise, based on the total weight of the rubber particles, from 25 to 100 weight percent rubber particles having a capsule morphology and a volume average particle size of from 0.1 to 0.4 microns; and from 75 to 0 weight percent rubber particles having an entanglement morphology having a volume average particle size of from 0.25 to 1 micron; and c) from 1 to 10 weight percent based on the total weight of the blend, of a monovinyl aromatic-conjugated diene copolymer, wherein: (i) the rubber and rubbery component in the rubber modified monovinylidene aromatic polymer and the monovinyl aromatic-conjugated diene copolymer range from 3 to 10 weight percent based on the total weight of the blend A; and (ii) the amount of the monovinyl aromatic-conjugated diene copolymer is less than 7 weight percent, based on the total weight of the blend A.

This invention is based upon the discovery that cyclized polyisoprene polymers can be incorporated into tire tread compounds to improve traction, treadwear, and resistance to tear. It is further based upon the discovery that cyclized polyisoprene polymers can be blended with halobutyl rubber and/or natural rubber and can be utilized in tire innerliner formulations. The present invention more specifically discloses a tire which is comprised of a generally toroidal-shaped carcass with an outer circumferential tread, two spaced beads, at least one ply extending from bead to bead and sidwalls extending radially from and connecting said tread to said beads, wherein said tread is adapted to be ground-contacting, and wherein said tread is comprised of a sulfur cured rubber composition which is comprised of about 5 phr to about 50 phr of cyclized polyisoprene and about 50 phr to about 95 phr of at least one other rubbery polymer.
