    摘要: Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of an elastic polyurethane fiber, including mixing one component selected from among polystyrene polymers or polystyrene copolymers having a number average molecular weight of 50,000-500,000 with polyurethane having a number average molecular weight of 15,000-100,000, to prepare a polymer mixture, which is then spun. The polyurethane elastic fiber made by the method is also provided, which is greatly increased in heat set properties, with a very low rate of change of fundamental properties as the results compared with conventional elastic polyurethane fibers. Hence, the elastic polyurethane fiber can be directly applied for preparation of end products requiring superior heat set properties with no change of conventional conditions of the process.

    摘要: Oriented films are prepared. A thermoplastic vulcanizate, prepared by mixing at least 20 wt % of a thermoset rubber by weight of the total composition into a thermoplastic polymer are disclosed. After the mixture is prepared the thermoset rubber is entrained as discrete particles within the continuous thermoplastic polymer phase. The resulting composite is subjected to a stress either by pulling, blow molding, or any other film-forming process as is known in the art. This stress causes the continuous phase polymer molecules to become aligned or oriented in the direction in which the stress was applied, thus creating the oriented thermoplastic vulcanizate of the invention. This material has improved gas permeability and improved flexibility properties.

    摘要: Biodegradable polymer blends suitable for laminate coatings, wraps and other packaging materials are manufactured from at least one nullhardnull biopolymer and at least one nullsoftnull biopolymer. nullHardnull biopolymers tend to be more brittle and rigid and typically have a glass transition temperature greater than about 10null C. nullSoftnull biopolymers tend to be more flexible and pliable and typically have a glass transition temperature less than about 0null C. While hard and soft polymers each possess certain intrinsic benefits, certain blends of hard and soft polymers have been discovered which possess synergistic properties superior to those of either hard or soft polymers by themselves. Biodegradable polymers include polyesters, polyesteramides, polyesterurethanes, thermoplastic starch, and other natural polymers. The polymer blends may optionally include an inorganic filler. Films and sheets made from the polymer blends may be textured so as to increase the bulk hand feel. Wraps will typically be manufactured to have good nulldead-foldnull properties so as to remain in a wrapped position and not spring back to an nullunwrappednull form.
