    摘要: The invention is directed to a membrane fuel pump for a membrane carburetor of an internal combustion engine. The carburetor has a pressure controller and the engine has a crankcase wherein pressure fluctuates during the operation thereof. The membrane fuel pump includes a pump membrane mounted in a housing which partitions a space of the housing into a pump chamber for receiving fuel from a fuel supply connection and a drive chamber. The drive chamber is charged with the pressure of the crankcase. A pressure connection connects the pump chamber to the pressure controller of the membrane carburetor. A bypass channel connects the pressure connection to the fuel supply connection and a valve is interposed between the pressure connection and the bypass channel. This valve is responsive to the pressure present in the pressure connection for switching the valve between a first position wherein the bypass channel is open to the pressure connection and a second position wherein the bypass channel is closed to the pressure connection.

    摘要: A modular fuel delivery system including a reservoir in fuel tank, an electric high pressure pump in the reservoir fed only from inside the reservoir, and a jet pump fed only from the fuel tank and discharging into the reservoir to keep the latter filled and energized from the high pressure pump. A check valve is disposed between the jet pump inlet and the fuel tank to prevent backflow into the fuel tank. A partition on the bottom of the reservoir separates the jet pump discharge from the high pressure pump inlet and defines a standpipe around and above the jet pump discharge so that the jet pump stays submerged in fuel when the high pressure pump empties the reservoir. The pumping efficiency of the jet pump when submerged is better than when dry so that the delay in restarting the engine after the both the fuel tank and the resvoir are pumped empty is minimized.

    摘要: A bottom wall of a fuel tank body defines an inwardly extending projection which separates at least a lower segment of an interior of the fuel tank body into a first fuel chamber and a second fuel chamber. Fuel is pumped out of the first fuel chamber. A portion of the fuel pumped out of the first fuel chamber is returned to the first fuel chamber by way of an ejector pump disposed within the fuel tank body. The ejector pump is driven by the return fuel. A communication pipe connects the second fuel chamber to the ejector pump. The ejector pump transports fuel from the second fuel chamber to the first fuel chamber via the communication pipe.

    摘要: A unitary structure for a vehicle engine which provides an air cleaning function, a fuel vapor storage function and a valve cover function. The structure may be molded or cast in a configuration particularly adapted to be secured to the outer portion of an engine cylinder head thus forming an enclosure means for valve components such as rocker arms and a camshaft if the engine is an overhead cam type engine. First and second wall means are spaced progressively outward from the cylinder head to form a space therebetween adapted to hold a quantity of activated charcoal. The charcoal is connected to the fuel tank and carburetor to trap and store fuel vapors therefrom. Another space is formed above the second wall means to house an air filter element. Air inlet and outlet means are located below and above the filter element to provide for a flow of air to the engine carburetor.
