Abstract: A packet processing device is implemented in a network that transmits priority packets and non-priority packets having a lower priority than the priority packets. The packet processing device includes: a packet storage, a gate, a controller, a detector, a generator, and a transmitter. The packet storage stores non-priority packets. The gate is provided on an output side of the packet storage. The controller controls the gate. The detector detects a transmission pattern of the priority packets. The generator generates, based on the transmission pattern of the priority packets, a gate control signal for controlling a gate of a packet processing device implemented in another node. The transmitter transmits the gate control signal to a destination of the priority packets.

An entity relationship estimation apparatus that estimates a relationship between a plurality of entities each executing a process is configured to include: a window-based correlation and traffic volume estimation unit that acquires traffic data of a plurality of entities, and calculates correlation values in one or more windows of a predetermined time width of each traffic data of at least one entity pair; and a relationship type estimation unit that estimates a type of relationship between entities of the entity pair based on the correlation values of the windows of the entity pair.

Abstract: Racks and rack pods to support a plurality of sleds are disclosed herein. Switches for use in the rack pods are also disclosed herein. A rack comprises a plurality of sleds and a plurality of electromagnetic waveguides. The plurality of sleds are vertically spaced from one another. The plurality of electromagnetic waveguides communicate data signals between the plurality of sleds.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for offloading packet classification processing of an access point in a residential gateway. A residential gateway includes a wireless access point and a processing circuit. The processing circuit receives a data packet from a network via a network port, processes the data packet to obtain packet classification information for the data packet, and sends the data packet with the packet classification information to the access point. The access point may process the data packet based on the packet classification information received from the processing circuit. The packet classification information includes at least one of a basic service set identifier, a station identifier, and an access category. The processing circuit may include a packet accelerator. The packet accelerator may write a cookie including the packet classification information in a packet descriptor for the data packet.

A method in a packet processing system includes receiving a plurality of data packets for transmission over the fronthaul network, wherein the plurality of data packets include radio data; obtaining first information for the plurality of data packets, wherein the first information is related to transmission of the radio data over a radio access interface in the radio network; and responsive to a requirement to decrease a load in the fronthaul network, selecting at least one of the plurality of packets to drop by applying at least one prioritization rule to the plurality of data packets based on the obtained first information.

Abstract: A network device may receive, from a user equipment, a dataset identifying: applications utilized by the user equipment, network protocol types associated with the applications, and network addresses associated with the applications. The network device may segregate the dataset based on the network protocol types and to generate a segregated dataset. The network device may determine, based on the segregated dataset, a policy that causes particular application traffic associated with a particular network protocol type to be allocated to a particular network slice of the network. The network device may cause the policy to be provided to the user equipment to cause the user equipment to allocate the particular application traffic associated with the particular network protocol type to the particular network slice of the network.
