摘要： A remote control receiver for processing signals representative of a plurality of commands, each command being identified by a control signal lying in a respective band of frequencies. The command-representative control signals are supplied to a counter which is also supplied with regularly recurring timing or clock signals. The clock signals provide recurring counting intervals of fixed duration during which the frequency of an incoming signal is measured and divided. The counter provides an output count, the magnitude of which is representative of a particular command. The divided output signals are compared during successive time intervals for identifying continued reception of like signals. Apparatus which is to be controlled by the received command signals is supplied with the divided output signals only after a predetermined number of successive like output signals are sensed. When successive output signals deviate from each other in a particular manner, they are decoupled from the control apparatus to prevent erroneous responses.

摘要： Metering devices such as utility meters include series resonant circuits connected in parallel to a common transmission line through indicating means comprising normally open contacts. Each time the meter integrates one unit of power, its contacts are closed for a predetermined time. A sampling means in a repeater successively delivers to the line different frequencies assigned to each of the circuits. If one of the resonant circuits receives its own frequency during the closure of its contacts, a decrease in line impedance is sensed by the repeater and its associated memory means such as a register counts ''''ONE''''. The transmission line includes a neutral conductor of a three-phase three-wire distribution system and a covered signal transmission conductor juxtaposed in an electrically insulated relationship by an insulation.

摘要： A finger-pressure actuated matrix switch assembly includes a map overlay and generates a binary coded signal corresponding to the coordinates of the point of application of pressure to the map. The assembly comprises a housing with a slot for positioning a replaceable map card in operative position and a storage chamber for a plurality of such map cards. Each of the map cards is edgenotched with a unique code identifying that card, and switches supported on the housing are actuated by these notches when a map card is inserted into its operative position to generate a binary electrical signal corresponding to that code. The matrix or grid is formed by orthogonally related sets of printed conductors on stacked boards spaced apart by resilient strip separators formed directly on one of the boards. Logic circuitry for converting the coordinates of contacting conductors into binary digits is carried on a single pluggable board detachably connected to the matrix boards for quick replacement to facilitate maintenance and repair.

摘要： A telemetering system permits multiple functions to be monitored in response to each interrogation pulse by utilizing multiple sets of reply frequencies to distinguish between simultaneous reply pulses. The status of the various functions is displayed on a color television screen segmented into a grid wherein the color of each grid location represents the status of a respective monitored function. Remote utility meter reading is effected using a single reply pulse per interrogation by monitoring only one dial of a multiple-dial meter for intervals of angular motion of the indicator and updating a total accumulated count at the central station each time a unit of fractional revolution is sensed. In a preferred embodiment, telemetering is effected via a coaxial cable dedicated solely to the telemetering system.

摘要： Apparatus for monitoring from a single station a physiological condition of each of a plurality of remotely located patients. A radio transmitter at the station generates sequentially a plurality of tone signals, one for each patient and each of a different frequency, on a common carrier. A radio receiver with each patient has a band pass corresponding to a particular one of the tone signals. Each receiver when addressed activates a radio transmitter with the patient for transmitting to a single receiver at the station a coded signal indicative of the physiological state of the patient, derived from signal generating means operatively connected to the patient. The signals received at the station are sequentially routed, decoded, and applied to suitable indicators.

摘要： A distributed directional aperture (DDA) system provides the capability to receive and/or transmit signals, limiting that reception or transmission to a 3-dimensional beam. The DDA system includes sensing and/or emitting array subsystems which comprise sensors and/or emitters distributed across, within, or under the skin of an aircraft, ship, ground vehicle, or fixed installation. The sensors receive energy, convert the received signals to digital information, and transmit that information via a telemetry subsystem to a beamformer subsystem. The beamformer subsystem analyzes the received signals from the sensors and/or emitters in order to determine the signal content from a specific direction. The emitters transmit energy, converting signals received from the beamformer subsystem via the telemetry subsystem into energy emissions. Methods of providing the DDA system including subsystems thereof are also disclosed
