摘要: A plastic frame assembly (10) for bearing weight and a method of assembling same, comprising a plastic support member (12) having a bottom portion (14) and a top portion (16). The bottom portion (14) has a channel (18), a plastic-affiliating migratory securing adhesive (20), and a flexible porous membrane (22). The plastic affiliating migratory securing adhesive (20) is applied to the channel (18) and the flexible porous membrane (22) is positioned on top of the channel (18) and forced into the channel (18). The plastic affiliating migratory securing adhesive (20) migrates through the flexible porous membrane (22) and secures the flexible porous membrane (22) to the bottom portion (14) of the plastic support member (12). The top portion (16) of the plastic support member (12) may register with the bottom portion (14) in such a way so that the flexible porous membrane (22) is held in place only by the plastic affiliating migratory securing adhesive (20).

摘要: The invention relates to a seat or seat back comprising of seat elements which are arranged to resiliently move with respect to each other and arranged to move with respect to a central axis, running centrally through the seat or seat back parallel to the spine of the occupant in a normally seated position, the first and second seat elements moving in opposite directions on either side of the central axis. The seat elements may rotate and are subject to a restoring force urging them to return them to their rest positions such that the user is able to move in a twisting position and the seat back or seat will also twist with the twisting movement of the user and provide support in the newly adopted position of the user. The seat elements could be formed from a single piece of resilient material.

摘要: A vehicle seat can be produced economically in various sizes and fitted out in various ways suitable for any application by virtue of construction utilizing extruded profiles. A seat module with continuous seating-surface and back-rest segments in a variety of widths is provided. The seat module is self-supporting over the whole width of the seating surface and is made up of two or more hollow shaped-section members running parallel to the front edge of the seating surface. These hollow members have adequate stiffening features in the form of webs and other reinforcements and are partly or completely attached to each other by frictionally locking structure or by the fact that they are integrally jointed to each other. The open sides of the seat module are closed off by coverings and the module supported at one or both sides. Other embodiments are directed to connection of arms and head rests, and the way in which the upholstery is attached.

By insert molding a reinforcing material into a low weight and strength plastic resin, a strength comparable to a high strength engineered plastic resin seat cushion frame and a stamped steel seat cushion frame can be achieved. 摘要: The method of this invention provides for the molding of a composite article such as a woven seat for use in furniture or automobiles wherein a woven fabric material and a plastic frame structure coact to enhance their respective strength characteristics. The fabric material is maintained under tension during the molding operation concurrently with the perimetral portion thereof being imbedded in a bonded relation with the frame structure. The strength characteristics of the woven fabric material are thus increased due to the uniform load distribution over the total area of the fabric seat resulting from the bonded securement of the perimetral portion with the frame structure.

摘要: A cantilever type seating unit with a back that can be secured to a wall surface including a shell in the form of a contoured plate having hook members attached to a rear surface of the back and fastening members attached to an undersurface of a seat portion, and a support frame including a pair of L-shaped support arms and a seat plate unitarily connected to the L-shaped support arms and having fastening seats attached to its upper surface. After the support frame is bolted or otherwise connected to the wall surface, the shell can be firmly fastened to the support frame by first hitching the hook members to upper ends of the L-shaped support members and then bringing the fastening members into fastening engagement with the fastening seats. The seating unit is simple in construction, easy to assemble and light in weight.
