    摘要: A petroleum sulfonate is prepared by (a) separately sulfonating each of two or more different petroleum fractions boiling substantially above 700.degree. F. by contact with sulfur trioxide under reaction conditions wherein the ratio of milliliters of sulfur trioxide to grams of aromatic components is adjusted so as to produce from each separate fraction a reaction product capable of producing upon neutralization a sulfonate having a sulfonate requirement in microemulsion below about 20 grams per 100 milliliters of microemulsion; (b) separately neutralizing the sulfonated fractions; and (c) blending the hydrocarbon sulfonates produced from two or more of the fractions in proportions sufficient to yield a product petroleum sulfonate blend useful for enhanced oil recovery.In one embodiment four different petroleum fractions are separately sulfonated using different ratios of sulfur trioxide to aromatic content for each fraction and the sulfonated fractions are blended in a weight ratio between 0:1:1:0 and 1:10:10:1 to yield a sulfonate blend useful for enhanced oil recovery.

    摘要: 5-Fluorotoluene-2,4-disulphochloride is prepared by chlorosulphonation of 3-fluorotoluene by first reacting the 3-fluorotoluene with chlorosulfuric acid and then with an inorganic acid chloride at temperatures up to 130.degree. C. until the evolution of gas is complete, and then heating the reaction mixture at temperatures of up to 200.degree. C. and, after the completion of the gas evolution, reacting the product at a lower temperature with further inorganic acid chloride, or reacting the 3-fluorotoluene with powerful sulphonating agents at an elevated temperature, if appropriate in the presence of inert solvents and/or diluents, to give the corresponding disulphonic acid and then treating the disulphonic acid with inorganic acid chlorides.

More particularly, this invention is directed to a process for the simplified preparation of light-colored, wash-active esters of .alpha.-sulfofatty acids with monovalent C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alcohols or their salts from fats and oils of vegetable and/or animal origin comprising re-esterification with the monovalent alcohols or saponification and esterification with the monovalent alcohols, separation of the fatty acid ester formed, hydrogenation of the fatty acid ester, sulfonation, and bleaching, wherein a fatty acid ester fraction from which accompanying fatty acid glycerides have been removed to the extent of about 1 percent by weight or less, based upon the weight of the material to be sulfonated, is introduced into the sulfonation stage.

    摘要: There is disclosed a process for isolating 2-naphthylamine-3,6,8-trisulfonic acid in the form of the alkali or ammonium salt from the sulfonation mixture resulting from the sulfonation of the corresponding naphthylaminemonosulfonic or -disulfonic acid in oleum, which process comprises starting from a sulfonation mixture which contains the naphthylaminetrisulfonic acid in the form of the monopotassium or monoammonium salt, charging said mixture into water or dilute sulfuric acid such that the concentration of the sulfuric acid in the dilute solution or suspension of the sulfonation mixture is 30 to 77% by weight, simultaneously allowing the temperature to rise to 90.degree. to 125.degree. C., subsequently slowly cooling said solution or suspension to a temperature below 40.degree. C., during said cooling adding at least 0.1% by weight, based on naphthylaminetrisulfonic acid, of a dispersant, and isolating the precipitated monopotassium or monoammonium salt of 2-naphthylamine-3,6,8-trisulfonic acid.The naphthylaminetrisulfonic acid isolated in this manner in the form of the monopotassium or monoammonium salt from the sulfonation mixture can be used direct for the manufacture of textile dyes.

    摘要: Alkylbenzene is sulfonated in a thin film type sulfonation process by adding 2 through 20 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of said alkylbenzene, of alkylbenzene sulfonic acids having alkyl groups of 1 through 20 carbon atoms and/or benzene sulfonic acids to the alkylbenzene prior to the contact thereof with diluted gaseous sulfur trioxide. The addition of alkylbenzene sulfonic acids and/or benzenesulfonic acid effectively prevents the formation of adherent deposits on the surface of a reaction wall.
