Abstract:
A multipoint connection apparatus (200) includes a video/audio-signal receiving unit (201) that receives video/audio signals from video/audio terminals (100); a volume-level calculating unit (205) that calculates volume levels from the video/audio signals; a volume-display-image generating unit (207) that generates volume display images indicating volume from the volume levels; a layout-setting-information receiving unit (209) that receives layout setting information indicating information about arrangement of videos to be displayed on the video/audio terminal (100); a combined-video/audio-signal generating unit (211) that generates a combined video/audio signal by combining the video/audio signals and the volume display images based on the layout setting information; and a transmitting unit (215) that transmits the video/audio signal to the video/audio terminal (100).
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method routes a video relay service call to a call queue corresponding to a preferred language after receiving an input from a user to initiate a video relay service call. The preferred language may be stored in connection with the phone number being called, and the system automatically routes the video relay service call to a call queue for one or more sign language interpreters fluent in the language associated with the telephone number. If there is no default language associated with the phone number being called, the caller can be asked for a language, or a default language can be used.
Abstract:
A terminal for use in a communications network for calling a called party includes a capture buffer for storing a media stream, including a voice command, received from the caller. A session controller in the terminal controls call handling and launches the call from the caller to the called party in accordance with the voice command. Responsive to the session manager, a stream controller will transmit the media stream from the capture buffer to the called party following set up of the call. In this way the called party may identify the caller voice and screen the call. Silence intervals in the media stream are detected and suppressed.
Abstract:
Various systems, methods, and computer program products for responding to service requests and facilitating communication between relevant parties are provided. The system may receive a request from a user, obtain a user location, identify a service provider such as an emergency response center based on the location, facilitate coordination of response efforts, and provide a page that is shared between various parties such as the user, contacts of the user, an operator, and a responder. The various parties may provide to the system inputs such as video to capture what is currently happening. The page may be updated with the inputs, include a status of the service request such as whether responders have been dispatched, and include a current location of the responders and other users. Using the page, various parties may obtain real-time situational awareness of an event that culminated in the service request and communicate with other users.
Abstract:
Systems and techniques for transferring electronic data between users of a communications system by receiving, at an instant messaging host, a video file from a sender and intended for a recipient; authenticating the video file; and sending the video file to the intended recipient.
Abstract:
Seamlessly transferring a communication. At least one communication is established between a first device and a second device. The at least one communication is transferred from the second device to a third device without interrupting the at least one communication and without disconnecting the at least one communication from the first device.

Abstract:
A transmission terminal transmits video data and display data of a screen shared with another transmission terminal to the other transmission terminal via a predetermined relay apparatus. The transmission terminal includes a storage unit that stores relay apparatus information of the relay apparatus to which the transmission terminal transmits the video data; a receive unit that receives the display data from an external input apparatus connected to the transmission terminal; and a transmitting unit that transmits the display data received by the receive unit to the relay apparatus indicated by the relay apparatus information stored in the storage unit.
Abstract:
A method for establishing a video conference is provided. The method is applied in a video conferencing system. The system has a first electronic device, a second electronic device, a third electronic device, a fourth electronic device, and a server. The first and second electronic devices are associated with a first user. The third and fourth electronic devices are associated with a second user. The method is capable of building an audio communication between the first electronic device and the third electronic device over a telecommunications network; and building a video communication between the second electronic device and the fourth electronic device over an IP network simultaneously, wherein the video communication is parallel to the audio communication.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for providing continuous presence video stream in a cascading video conference, i.e., a video conference that is conducted over more than one MCU. A cascading continuous presence composition controller (CCCC) selects which endpoints from among all of the endpoints participating in the conference should be displayed in the layout, regardless of which endpoints are associated with which MCU. The CCCC can be resident on one of the MCUs, resident on a cascading conference server, or can be distributed among all of the MCUs involved in a cascading conference.
