Abstract: A transmitting method for transmitting encoded data obtained by hierarchically encoding a video image includes: generating an encoded stream that includes time information and the encoded data, the time information indicating a time at which decoding or displaying processing of the encoded data is performed, and transmitting the generated encoded stream, wherein the encoded data includes a plurality of sets each including a plurality of access units and the time information includes first time information which indicates a time at which the processing performed on a first access unit of the first set is performed and which is based on a reference clock, and second time information used to specify a time at which the processing performed on a second access unit of the second set is performed and which is based on the reference clock.

Abstract: A recording medium according an aspect of the present disclosure has recorded therein a main video stream where a main video has been encoded, and a sub-video stream where a sub-video, that is to be superimposed on the main video and displayed, has been encoded. The sub-video stream includes bitmap data indicating a design of the sub-video and palette data specifying the display color of the design. The palette data includes first palette data for a first luminance dynamic range (SDR), and second palette data for a second luminance dynamic range (HDR) that is broader than the first dynamic range.

Abstract: A recording medium includes a video stream of a standard-luminance range and a video stream of high-luminance range, which are used selectively in accordance with a playback environment. The recording medium also includes a subtitle stream of the standard-luminance range and a subtitle stream of the high-luminance range, which are used selectively in accordance with the playback environment. A playlist file includes a management region where playback control information relating to a main stream is stored, and includes an extended region. The management region stores first playback control information specifying playing of the video stream of the high-luminance range and the subtitle stream of the high-luminance range in combination. The extended region stores second playback control information specifying playing of the video stream of the standard-luminance range and the subtitle stream of the standard-luminance range in combination.

Abstract: An encoder includes circuitry and memory connected to the circuitry. Abstract: A decoder includes circuitry which, in operation, parses a first flag indicating whether a CCALF (cross component adaptive loop filtering) process is enabled for a first block located adjacent to a left side of a current block; parses a second flag indicating whether the CCALF process is enabled for a second block located adjacent to an upper side of the current block; determines a first index associated with a color component of the current block; and derives a second index indicating a context model, using the first flag, the second flag, and the first index. The circuitry, in operation, performs entropy decoding of a third flag indicating whether the CCALF process is enabled for the current block, using the context model indicated by the second index; and performs the CCALF process on the current block in response to the third flag indicating the CCALF process is enabled for the current block.

The circuitry, in operation, determines a first region and a second region in an input image, generates a first image from the input image by applying a first prefilter to the first region and a second prefilter to the second region, determines a first parameter relating to the first region and a second parameter relating to the second region, and generates a bitstream by encoding the first region based on the first parameter, encoding the second region based on the second parameter, encoding the first prefilter or a first postfilter corresponding to the first prefilter, and encoding the second prefilter or a second postfilter corresponding to the second prefilter.
