Abstract: A flexible endless conveyor for a combine harvester comprises a number of side-by-side elastomeric belts having a plurality of molded cleats on the surface of the belt, aligned in rows orthogonal with respect to the length of the belt, and interspaced by openings in the base of the belt between adjacent cleats of a row. Crop gathering tines are mounted in the openings and are carried by a rod positioned within bores molded into the cleats on an axis in line with the row of cleats across the width of the belt.

Abstract: Apparatus for handling creme filled cookies during a period in which the filling is hardening. The cookies are formed of a pair of baked base cakes separated by a layer of creme filling material which is applied in a heated fluid state and hardens as it cools. The apparatus includes a cooling tunnel and a conveyor extending through the tunnel. The conveyor is segmented, each segment having a bottom wall and a pair of side walls which form an elongated trough to carry a continuous column of cookies through the cooling tunnel. The side walls of the segments are inclined outwardly to tangentially engage the edge of the base cakes and support the cookies in a vertical position.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transporting workpieces during surface altering treatment in which each workpiece is mounted on a holder which moves along a guide slot forming a non-circular, closed path. A double sprocket chain extending along one side of the slot engages a gear of each workholder for moving the holders along the slot as the double chain is driven. A second chain on the other side of the slot also engages the gear to rotate the holders as they move along the slot. Links connect the holders and cover the portions of the slot not covered by the upper surfaces of the holders on which the workpieces rest. The workpieces are thus uniformly treated, for example, coated.

Abstract: A combination hay conveying belt and working element is provided which comprises a belt made primarily of elastomeric material and having an inner compression section, a load-carrying section and an outer tension section, the tension section having grooves disposed transverse to the endless path of the belt, and a working element attached exteriorly to the belt within each groove by means substantially conforming to at least a portion of the groove. Abstract: A product conveying assembly for installation, for example, in a market check out stand receives products selected for purchase and brought by a customer in a buggy or cart and orderly end delivers them to a checker in the immediate location of a product code scanner, a key-in cost entry register, a scale, and/or bagging location. Abstract: A conveyor system consists of an endless loop of pallet assemblies linked together and mounted on a number of modules positioned end-to-end. One, at least, of these modules is a drive module but the remainder are non-powered. The drive module includes a pair of chains having links whose pitch is a sub-multiple of the pitch of the teeth on driving wheels. Teeth are provided on the pallet assemblies to engage the chains. A lateral guide roller has an axle which serves also as part of an articulated joint between successive pallet assemblies. The pallet assemblies can each be formed of a rigid portion linked to a flexible portion. Each pallet assembly has a pair of guide rollers to engage guide sections for vertical positioning. A single chain drive and pins on the pallet assemblies to engage the chain are alternatives.

Abstract: A conveyor for conveying a series of successive buckets along a path from a charging hopper through various processes to a receiving hopper, which comprises a pair of chain links holding the buckets therebetween so that they are spaced apart along sections of the path and conjoined in at least one horizontal section of the path. Each bucket has a pivotal cover held between two bell cranks and spring-biased selectively into open and closed positions. The buckets are positioned with the covers facing the receiving hopper. A rocking arm is arranged for periodically engaging the cover of each successive bucket to open the cover when the bucket is positioned above the receiving hopper and the cover is closed after each successive bucket is charged.
