    Abstract: A PWM signal generator circuit includes a multiphase clock generator that generates a number n of phase-shifted clock phases having the same clock period and being phase shifted by a time corresponding to a fraction 1/n of the clock period. The PWM signal generator circuit determines for each switch-on duration first and second integer numbers, and for each switch-off duration third and fourth integer numbers. The first integer number is indicative of the integer number of clock periods of the switch-on duration and the second integer number is indicative of the integer number of the additional fractions 1/n of the clock period of the switch-on duration. The third integer number is indicative of the integer number of clock periods of the switch-off duration, and the fourth integer number is indicative of the integer number of the additional fractions 1/n of the clock period of the switch-off duration.

    Abstract: A method and system for rotating a vector, including at least one lookup table (LUT) including data corresponding to the vector being rotated around a first angle and a second angle, processing circuitry configured for accessing the at least one LUT for incrementally rotating the vector around the first and second angles, where accessing includes identifying an LUT input entry and selecting a corresponding LUT output entry, the corresponding output entry including an incremental angular rotation (IAR) of the vector around the first angle or the second angle, and a comparator configured to generate a comparator signal based upon comparing a counter incremented by the IAR with the first angle or the second angle, the processing circuitry further configured to iteratively access the at least one LUT, based on the comparator signal, for completing the incremental rotation of the vector around the first angle and the second angle.

    Abstract: A programmable data processing circuit is configured for receiving sensor signals indicative of gestures for identification by the processing circuit. The processing circuit applies to the sensor signals finite state machine processing resources to provide identification output signals indicative of gestures identified as a function of the sensor signals. A plurality of finite state machine processing programs loaded into the processing circuit include a data section and an instruction section. The data section including a fixed size part specifying respective processing resources used by the programs in the plurality of finite state machine processing programs and a variable size part with respective sizes for allocating the respective processing resources used by the programs in the plurality of finite state machine processing programs. The instruction section including conditions and commands for execution by the respective processing resources used by the programs by operating on data located in the respective data sections.

    Abstract: An electronic device has an input which, in operation, receives an input stream of accelerometer data samples indicative of acceleration values along at least one axis. The devices includes circuitry, coupled to the input. The circuitry, in operation, executes an automatic-learning algorithm on blocks of samples of the input stream of accelerometer data samples to identify, for each block, a corresponding condition-of-user-movement from among a plurality of determined conditions-of-user-movement. The circuitry generates a plurality of streams of samples based on the input stream of accelerometer data samples, and for each condition of movement identified, selects a corresponding stream of samples of the plurality of streams of samples. The circuitry executes a wrist-tilt gesture detection algorithm using samples of the selected stream of the plurality of streams of samples.

    Abstract: A MEMS switch is actuatable by a fluid, and includes a piezoelectric pressure sensor that detects the movement of a fluid generating a negative pressure. The piezoelectric pressure sensor is formed by a chip of semiconductor material having a through cavity and a sensitive membrane, which extends over the through cavity and has a first and a second surface. The piezoelectric pressure sensor is mounted on a face of a board having a through hole so that the through cavity overlies and is in fluid connection with the through hole. The board has a fixing structure, which enables securing in an opening of a partition wall separating a first and a second space from each other. The board is arranged so that the first surface of the sensitive membrane faces the first space, and the second surface of the sensitive membrane faces the second space.
