Abstract: Systems and methods herein describe an actuator control system for controlling intelligent actuated nose pad arms of a pair of eyeglasses. The proposed systems and methods receive a set of position data corresponding to a position of nose pad arms, generate a predicted set of position data for the position of the nose pad arms, transmit the predicted set of position data to pneumatic actuators coupled to the nose pad arms, capture a set of images comprising a plurality of views of the nose pad arms, generate an augmented set of position data of the nose pad arms based on the set of images, generate an adjusted set of position data based on the predicted set of position data and the augmented set of position data, and transmit the adjusted set of position data to the pneumatic actuators coupled to the nose pad arms.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the disclosed subject-matter include a wearable optics device including an adjustment mechanism supportable on a frame adapted to be worn by a user; one or more waveguides in a pre-aligned position relative to the adjustment mechanism; and an optical element moveably attached to the adjustment mechanism to enable the optical element to be moved based on a user preference and to provide an exit pupil for the wearable optics device In various embodiments, the waveguide output is oversized relative to the input region of the optical element. Other devices and apparatuses are also disclosed.

Abstract: An eyewear device with camera-based compensation that improves the user experience for user's having partial blindness or complete blindness. The camera-based compensation determines objects, converts determined objects to text, and then converts the text to audio that is indicative of the objects and that is perceptible to the eyewear user. The camera-based compensation may use a region-based convolutional neural network (RCNN) to generate a feature map including text that is indicative of objects in images captured by a camera. Relevant text of the feature map is then processed through a text to speech algorithm featuring a natural language processor to generate audio indicative of the objects in the processed images.

Abstract: A methodology is described that provides access to augmented reality components maintained by a messaging server system directly from a third party resource, without having to first launch an associated messaging client (either a stand-alone app or a web-based version of the app). The technical problem of invoking an augmented reality component maintained by the messaging server system directly from a third party app is addressed by permitting third party app developers to include a deep link that references the identification of a desired augmented reality component into their third party resource. The deep link invoked from a third party resource causes activation of the messaging client, loading the augmented reality component represented by the identification referenced in the deep link, and activating, from the messaging client, a camera of the computer device that is executing the third party resource.

Abstract: A system and method for determining a mood for a crowd is disclosed. In example embodiments, a method includes identifying an event that includes two or more attendees, receiving at least one indicator representing emotions of attendees, determining a numerical value for each of the indicators, and aggregating the numerical values to determine an aggregate mood of the attendees of the event.
