A portable computer includes a monitor, a base, and a hinge. The hinge includes a shaft sleeve, a rotary shaft, a driven element, and a resistance structure. The shaft sleeve is fixed to the base. The rotary shaft is fixed to the monitor and disposed in the shaft sleeve. The driven element is connected to and driven by the rotary shaft. The resistance structure is disposed adjacent to the driven element, wherein the driven element does not contact the resistance structure when the rotary shaft is rotated in a first angular range, and the driven element contacts the resistance structure and sustains a resistance when the rotary shaft is rotated in a second angular range.

The invention discloses a temperature variation apparatus for varying the temperature of a liquid. The temperature variation apparatus includes a metal tube, a power supply, a heat conductor, and a thermo-electric cooler (TEC). The liquid is poured into the metal tube. The power supply has an anode and a cathode respectively connected to two ends of the metal tube, so that the metal tube can be electrified to generate heat. The heat conductor encircles and contacts with the metal tube, and the thermo-electric cooler contacts with the heat conductor.

An audio data transmission system applied in a blade PC for connecting a main system unit of a PC blade with an external audio device is provided. The audio data transmission system comprises a peripheral agent device, a peripheral gateway and a connection management unit. The peripheral agent device is connected to the main system unit. The peripheral gateway is connected to the external audio device and is for providing an identification code. In response to the identification code, the connection management unit pairs the peripheral agent device with the peripheral gateway to establish a communication link between the peripheral agent device and the peripheral gateway for transmitting an audio data.

A battery life alarm system and a battery life alarm method are provided. The battery life alarm system includes a first arithmetic unit, a second arithmetic unit and a third arithmetic unit. The first arithmetic unit outputs a capacity ratio according to a sense voltage and a design capacity of a battery. The second arithmetic unit outputs a life ratio according to a used life parameter and a design life parameter of the battery, wherein the used life parameter and design life parameter correspond to the using time or the charge/discharge times of the battery. The third arithmetic unit outputs a life index according to the capacity ratio, the life ratio and a weighted percentage.

A blade server system with a management bus and method for managing the same. The blade server system includes a connection board and a management module. The connection board is used for modular interconnection, including communication paths for conducting signals including a management bus signal group and a first bus signal group. The management module is used for management of the blade server system using signals including the management bus signal group and the first bus signal group. If a module is detected, the management module selects the detected module through the management bus and acquires module configuration information of the detected module through the first bus signal group. Distribution of power from a power source to the blade server system is determined according to system configuration information including the module configuration information of the module so that the power source is prevented from being overloaded.

An image edge enhancement apparatus and a method thereof used for adjusting the brightness of a pixel are provided. The image edge enhancement apparatus comprises a first edge judgment circuit, a second edge judgment circuit and a process circuit. The first edge judgment circuit retrieves the edge data of the pixel in a first direction to output a first edge value. The second edge judgment circuit retrieves the edge data of the pixel in a second direction to output a second edge value. The process circuit determines an operation mode according to the brightness of a plurality of adjacent pixels around the pixel, the first edge value and the second edge value to output an adjusted brightness of the pixel according to operation mode. The adjusting method effectively avoids the noise in an image being amplified, and avoids the same edge being repetitively enhanced by different edge judgment circuits.

A subband synthesis filtering apparatus for M sets of signals is provided. Each set of signals includes N subband sample signals. The apparatus includes a processor for processing the ith set of signals among the M sets of signals, wherein i is an integer index ranging from 0 to (M−1). The processor includes a DCT converting module and a generating module. The DCT converting module converts the N subband sample signals of the ith set of signals into N converted vectors. If i is an odd number, the (2j−1)th subband sample signal among the N subband sample signals is multiplied by negative one in the converting module, wherein j is an integer index ranging from 1 to (N/2). The generating module generates N pulse code modulation signals based on the N converted vectors.
Abstract:
The invention provides an image processing apparatus for generating coordination calibration points. The image processing apparatus includes a subtracting module, an edge detection module and an intersection point generation module. The subtracting module subtracts a first image from a second image to generate a first subtracted image, and subtracts the first image from a third image to generate a second subtracted image. The edge detection module performs an edge detection process for the first subtracted image to generate a first edge image, and performs the edge detection process for the second subtracted image to generate a second edge image, wherein the first edge image includes a first edge and the second edge image includes a second edge. The intersection point generation module generates, according to the first and second edges, an intersection point pixel, serving as the coordination calibration point corresponding to the first edge and the second edge.
