摘要: A crustacean trap adapted to permit blocking entry to a crustacean of a protected species, including a cage, enclosing a volume and a crustacean entrance that can be closed to prevent entry, responsive to a first signal and opened to permit crustacean entry, responsive to a second signal received at the trap. Also, an image forming assembly includes a digital camera and a flash mechanism, the assembly being directed at an area immediately outside of the entrance and being tuned to return a maximum signal from crustaceans of the protected crustacean species so that a protected species crustacean appears as brightly lit in images formed, and being communicatively connected to a remote station that is equipped to receive-images from the assembly. Finally, there is a connector for connecting the cage to a signal source for receiving the first and second signals and for sending the images formed.

摘要: A high-efficiency lamp, emitting light from a front surface, and having a high-efficiency light source, producing a first light beam. An iris assembly has an annular body that defines a first annulus and has iris blades which can be extended into the annulus to form a second, smaller, annulus. This iris assembly is positioned relative to the light source so that the iris blades are in front of the high-efficiency light source. The annular body and therefore the first annulus have finite depth from back to front. A light guide is placed immediately behind the iris blades and defines a channel that is open at its back and its front and has a reflective interior surface, with the open back being transversely coincident to the light source so that light from the light source can travel through the channel to and out from the open front.

摘要: An environmental sampling and assay system, having a coupon storage assembly, storing coupons; an environment sampling assembly, the sampling assembly mixing an environmental sample with a liquid to create a sample-liquid, bearing the environmental sample; a coupon moving assembly; a coupon wetting assembly for automatically wetting a coupon with the sample-liquid; a coupon perceiving device; a data input, adapted to receive a signal; and a data processing and control assembly, controlling the environmental sampling system, the coupon moving assembly, the wetting assembly and the coupon perceiving device. Further, the coupon moving assembly can retrieve a coupon from the coupon storage assembly and move it in a linear manner to the coupon wetting assembly.

摘要: An extruder having an extruder crosshead, a die, and a die retaining assembly. The extruder crosshead has an annular major surface while the die has a first die surface facing and conformal to that major surface. The die also has a second die surface opposed to the first die surface. The die-retaining assembly is attached to the extruder crosshead, evenly and variably pressing the second die surface with controlled pressure such that the substantially opposing first die surface is pressed into the major surface of the extruder crosshead. The die-retaining also includes movable elements which abut the die in order to move the die. The die-retaining assembly can be used to evenly reduce the pressure exerted by over the second die surface so that the position adjustment elements can be used to more easily adjust the position of the die.

摘要: A method of creating a rifle and scope assembly, that begins with selecting and providing a rifle having a caliber and barrel length and providing a selection of rifle scopes, wherein each one is matched to a caliber and barrel length. Then, a rifle scope that matches the caliber and barrel length of the rifle is selected from the selection of rifle scopes. The rifle scope is attached to the rifle. Then, a cartridge type is selected to be used in the rifle. A range to zero the rifle scope is selected, based on caliber, barrel length and cartridge type. The final step is zeroing the rifle scope to the selected range.

摘要: A method of reading a coupon channel that displays a test section pattern after being exposed to a target substance, the method uses a device having a computer readable memory, digital camera, logic assembly and user interface; providing a pixel target intensity profile; placing the coupon in the device and exposing the coupon channel to a test fluid mixture; automatically using the digital camera to take a digital image of the coupon channel test section after the exposure. The improvement in the method includes finding the contiguous set of pixels from the test section of the coupon channel that best matches the intensity profile of the target pattern representation and determining if this best match set of pixels exceeds a similarity threshold and in response to a best match set of pixels passing the similarity threshold, automatically providing a human perceptible indication that the target substance has been detected.

摘要: A particle detector that includes a housing defining a chamber, and an air stream injector, producing an airstream with entrained particles, in the chamber. A light source produces a light beam that intersects with and is wider than the air stream. A light detection assembly detects light generated by scattering of the light beam, by particles in the air stream. A digitizer produces a sequence of scattering digital values, each representing light detected per a first unit of time duration. Additionally, a summing assembly produces a sequence of summed scattering digital values, each equaling a sum of a sequential set of n of the digital values, and wherein successive summed digital values are offset by a the first unit of time duration and overlap by n−1 of the first units of time duration with a nearest neighbor. Finally, a detection assembly processes the summed scattering digital values to detect particles.
