    Abstract: One or more devices, systems, methods, and storage mediums for imaging and for minimally invasive medical devices, such as, but not limited to, for intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), spectrally encoded endoscopy (SEE), and/or Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), are provided herein. One or more embodiments may involve imaging reconstruction using a real-time signal of a rotary position from a near distal end encoder. One or more devices, systems, methods and storage mediums may include, in one or more embodiments, a rotary encoder or sensor to detect an angular position of a rotary shaft or a drive cable, for example, to reduce imaging Non-Uniform Rotational Distortion. Examples of such applications include imaging, evaluating and diagnosing biological objects, such as, but not limited to, for Gastro-intestinal, cardio and/or ophthalmic applications, and being obtained via one or more optical instruments.

    Abstract: One or more devices, systems, methods, and storage mediums for optical imaging medical devices, such as, but not limited to, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), single mode OCT, and/or multi-modal OCT apparatuses and systems, and methods and storage mediums for use with same, for calculating lumen distance(s), including based on real-time A-line signal(s), are provided herein.     Abstract: A catheter system includes an electronic console; a catheter having a proximal end attachable to the console and a distal end configured to house therein an optical probe; an optical fiber configured to transmit from the console to the optical probe excitation radiation of a first wavelength, and configured to return to the console an optical response signal having a second wavelength longer than the first wavelength; a detector configured to detect intensity of the optical response signal; and a processor configured to determine, based on the detected intensity of the optical response signal, whether the catheter is properly connected to the console. The optical response signal is generated within the optical fiber itself in response to transmitting the excitation radiation therethrough. The optical response signal is an auto-fluorescence signal and/or Raman scattering signal generated from the optical fiber itself.

One or more processors execute instructions stored in one or more memory devices which configure the one or more processors to obtain an image from an image source, extract intensity values for each pixel of the obtained image, calculate a probability distribution for the obtained image representing a number of pixels at each unique pixel value, determine, from the calculated probability distribution, a spread value representing a series pixel values including at least a predetermined number of pixels at each pixel value in the series of pixel values and classify the obtained image a member of one of three classes based on the calculated probability distribution and the determined spread value.
