Abstract: An optical fiber includes: a central core portion; an intermediate layer configured to surround an outer periphery of the central core portion; a trench layer configured to surround an outer periphery of the intermediate layer; and a cladding portion configured to surround an outer periphery of the trench layer. The central core portion is made of silica based glass that does not contain germanium (Ge). Δ1>Δ2>Δ3 and ΔClad>Δ3, where Δ1 represents an average maximum relative refractive-index difference of the central core portion relative to pure quartz glass, Δ2 represents an average relative refractive-index difference of the intermediate layer relative to the pure quartz glass, Δ3 represents an average relative refractive-index difference of the trench layer relative to the pure quartz glass, and ΔClad represents an average relative refractive-index difference of the cladding portion relative to the pure quartz glass. Δ1 is equal to or larger than 0.05%.

Abstract: During welding for manufacturing a bipolar storage battery, it is possible to reduce heat accumulation inside an electrical conductor and heat conductivity to a periphery of a through-hole by connecting current collector plates on both surfaces of a substrate. In the battery in which a positive electrode current collector plate and a negative electrode current collector plate of cell members adjacent to each other are electrically connected to each other by an electrical conductor arranged in a through-hole and a plurality of cell members are electrically connected in series, an area of at least one of a connection surface of the electrical conductor with the positive electrode current conductor plate and a connection surface of the electrical conductor with the negative electrode current collector plate is smaller than a cross-sectional area of the electrical conductor parallel to the connection surface in a middle portion in a plate thickness direction.

Abstract: A reinforcement sleeve is a member for reinforcing a connection part of an optical fiber tape core wire, and comprises a heat-shrinkable tube, a heat-meltable member, a tension member, and the like. The heat-shrinkable tube is a cylindrical member. The tension member is a rod-shaped member. The tension member and the heat-meltable member are inserted in the heat-shrinkable tube. The heat-meltable member is disposed above the tension member. The tension member is approximately circular or approximately elliptical in a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the reinforcement sleeve. More specifically, the surface on the heat-meltable member side of the tension member is formed to have an arc-shaped convex curved surface in a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the tension member.

Abstract: A vapor chamber has: a container in which a cavity portion is formed in an inside; a wick structure provided in the cavity portion; a working fluid enclosed in the cavity portion; a vapor flow path which is formed in the cavity portion and through which the working fluid in a gas phase flows; and a hydrogen occlusion metal that is disposed in the cavity portion and absorbs hydrogen at 350° C. or lower and does not release hydrogen at 350° C. or lower, the hydrogen occlusion metal being coated in a region in contact with the working fluid in an inner surface of the cavity portion and/or the wick structure.
