Abstract:
A system is provided for wireless video entertainment including sources of video, audio and/or data signals. A server processes and stores the video signal prior to transmission to a personal electronic device (“PED”) of a user. Transmission to the PED is wireless via a multi-band RF access module positioned in close proximity to the PED. The PED may be a laptop computer, cell phone, touch display unit or other device capable of receiving and processing a digitized video signal. The access module includes a RF power combiner for unique bundling and isolation of a plurality of video signals throughout the transmission process. An audio signal may be synchronized or isochronously transported with a video signal and transmitted via an audio module to a wireless audio receiver, such as a headset. Further, data signals for Internet and email use are provided. System and GUI software facilitate operation of the system.
Abstract:
A process for feeding or cracking heavy hydrocarbon feedstock containing non-volatile hydrocarbons comprising: heating the heavy hydrocarbon feedstock, mixing the heavy hydrocarbon feedstock with a fluid and/or a primary dilution steam stream to form a mixture, flashing the mixture to form a vapor phase and a liquid phase, and varying the amount of the fluid and/or the primary dilution steam stream mixed with the heavy hydrocarbon feedstock in accordance with at least one selected operating parameter of the process, such as the temperature of the flash stream before entering the flash drum.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing, in an automated data storage system having a plurality of removable data storage devices, independent memory devices associated with and physically attached to respective removable data storage devices for storing volume identification, RAID bundle information where applicable, and other drive specific information about their respective removable data storage devices. The removable data storage devices are typically hard disk drives, and the independent memory devices are preferably serial electrically-erasable programmable read-only memory (“EEPROM”) solid state memory devices. The EEPROM operates independently of the operation of its respective removable hard disk drive, does not require that the hard disk drive be powered up, and continues to operate in the presence of a catastrophic failure of the hard disk drive.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a fire-resistant composition containing at least one star polyamide and a flame retardancy system comprising a phosphinate and a melamine reaction product. The inventive composition can be used to produce elements having a low flame-spread rating upon combustion as well as satisfactory mechanical properties. Said composition is particularly suitable for producing moulded elements that are used in the field of electrical and electronic connector technology.
Abstract:
A retroreflective article having at least one valve is disclosed. Each valve may include a channel extending from a first major surface to a second major surface of the retroreflective material, and at least one movable member proximate the channel. The at least one movable member is movable between a closed position and an open position. When in the closed position, the at least one movable member obstructs at least a portion of the channel. A method of making a retroreflective article having at least one valve is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The subject invention provides compositions useful for the control of plant pathogens. Specifically exemplified are essential oil compositions which are effective in the control of fungal and bacterial plant pathogens.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing techniques for receiving a node configuration packet that includes a request for access to a memory space of an Advanced Switching device, performing a set of checks on a header of the received node configuration packet to determine whether the packet is valid, and processing the access request when the packet is determined to be valid.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for disease control in plants. The compositions for use in the methods of the invention include glyphosate as the active compound. In addition, methods and compositions are disclosed to prevent and treat pest infection in glyphosate tolerant plants.
Abstract:
Interfaces are provided which integrate mistake-proofing concepts in a way easily understandable by the operator and easily configured by a manufacturing engineer. As mistake-proofing concepts are developed tables are populated and associated with specific assembly processes. Sensors are employed to monitor parts selection and tool usage. Sensors used for tool use and parts selection, error messages and actions to be performed or monitored are all defined and related in the tables and in turn to specific assembly orders. The tables are also populated with logic pointers, which are referenced by a Process Logic Control (PLC) unit that has been programmed to recall and carry out infinitely variable monitoring or control of the assembly process. For example when a particular order has been identified to the PLC by way of a scanned barcode or other means, a bill of material and assembly sequence is provided to the operator by appropriate means such as a CRT monitor. Parts bins and assembly points may be indicated by visual or other means to indicate parts and tools to be used and assembly points. Sensors determine when the proper part has been selected for the particular assembly step and/or whether the appropriate tool is used. The PLC then provides feedback to the operator to indicate whether all necessary steps have been accomplished in the proper order, with the proper parts using the proper tools. The PLC will provide the operator with understandable error messages indicating when a step has been improperly completed. The PLC can also control stops on the line to prevent the assembly from moving forward until all steps have been completed according to the specific order program. An override means may also be provided to bypass the PLC controls in which case an error log is compiled and an automated message is sent to supervisory personnel indicating that the system was overridden by the operator and follow up action is required.
Abstract:
A data storage cartridge having an data storage device, such as an encased magnetic disk drive assembly, is, in one embodiment, of generally an exterior dimensional form factor of a tape cartridge having a leader block with a hole therethrough for engagement by a threading pin. To distinguish the cartridge from a tape cartridge, the cartridge shell comprises a blocking portion at the location of the leader block hole. A transfer station both identifies the cartridge and indicates the presence of the cartridge at an end of travel in a cartridge receiver, employing an optical source and an opposed sensor directed toward the leader block hole when a cartridge is at the end of travel. In another embodiment, an encased magnetic disk drive assembly is supported and mounted in a cartridge shell by a shock mount. A flex cable interconnects the rear of the encased magnetic disk drive assembly with an external data transfer interface at the opposite side of the cartridge for data transfer with respect to a transfer station and to provide mechanical isolation.
