Abstract:
A radio antenna device for a radio communication terminal, e.g. a mobile telephone, comprising a flat ground plane and an antenna element having a radio signal feeding point disposed at the ground plane. The antenna element has a folded three dimensional box-like shape. The inventive antenna design provides for an antenna device with compact size, which at the same time is operable in UWB (Ultra Wideband) frequency regions. The antenna device may therefore advantageously be incorporated into a portable communication terminal such as a mobile telephone.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for generating a bone density value. The method comprises the steps of: generating digital image data depending upon an X-ray image corresponding to at least a part of the bone; transmitting a digital image data signal comprising the digital image data; and processing said digital image data signal. The processing step comprises the sub steps of: generating a trabeculae model depending upon said processed digital image data signal; generating at least one geometrical figure depending upon the generated trabeculae model, wherein the generated geometrical figure is provided essentially within a space at least partly defined by centre lines of the generated trabeculae; calculating the bone density value depending upon the at least one generated geometrical figure.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a new process for the preparation of NO-donating compounds using a sulfonated intermediate. The invention relates to new intermediates prepared therein suitable for large scale manufacturing of NO-donating compounds. The invention further relates to the use of the new intermediates for the manufacturing of pharmaceutically active NO-donating compounds. The invention further relates to a substantially crystalline form of NO-donating NSAIDs, especially 2-[2-(nitrooxy)ethoxy]ethyl {2-[(2,6-dichlorophenyl)amino]phenyl}acetate, the preparation thereof and to pharmaceutical formulations containing said crystalline form and to the use of said crystalline form in the preparation of a medicament.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method for the replacement of equipment in a process control system for an industrial plant, in which a replacement operation is conducted at least in part by means of a first software application component for conducting e-procurement operations whereby one or more replacement devices complying with a defined specification may be procured from one or more external suppliers, which component is functionally linked with at least one second software application component for managing runtime operational data associated with said equipment, such that e-procurement operations may be initiated via said at least one second software application component.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention are directed towards providing safe updating of objects in a computerized object-based system for process and manufacturing control. Some methods in some embodiments of methods may include providing a production environment within the system comprising operative versions of computer objects and at least one related engineering environment isolated from the production environment. Some embodiments of such methods may also include importing versions of objects to the engineering environment from a related environment, allowing a group of system-modifying users to modify the imported objects for creating modified versions of these objects and barring other users from modifying the imported objects, and exporting objects from the engineering environment to a related environment, where the exporting involves replacing current versions of objects in the related environment with modified versions for making the modified versions current versions.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system and method for web-based monitoring and control of distributed installations, with at least one web client which interchanges data/information with web servers in the respective distributed installation via communications links, where the at least one web client has applications and an integration layer for this purpose which execute, show and/or display the data/information interchange with the distributed installations.
Abstract:
A receiver for use in a communications system, said receiver comprising a plurality of receiving means, at least two of said receiving means arranged to process the same signal received at different times; means for combining the output of at least two of said receiving means with different weights, said weights being arranged to take into account information relating to a spreading code of at least one signal other than said same signal.
Abstract:
Apparatus, and an associated method, for a multi-branch receiver. A receive signal is received at various receiver branches of the multi-branch receiver. Subsequent to selected processing stages of processing of the receive signal, determinations are made of the signal quality of the signal in the receiver branches. When determinations are made that the signal quality of the signal of a particular receiver branch is of poor quality, further processing of the signal in the branch is squelched.
