Abstract:
A solid solution particle of oxides contains a solid solution of oxides in which one oxide is dissolved into the other oxide, and in which the degree of dissolution of one oxide into the other oxide is not less 50%, and in which an average diameter of crystallite is not more than 100 nm. The solid solution particle of oxides has small average diameter of a crystallite and large specific surface area, and it improves capacities such as an oxygen storage ability due to high degree of dissolution. A catalyst for purifying exhaust gases has excellent purifying performance by employing the solid solution comprising ceria and zirconia which has large OSC and high oxygen adsorption and discharge speed.
Abstract:
A catalyst for purifying exhaust gases comprises a catalyst carrier made of potassium titanate and a noble metal loaded on the catalyst carrier. The catalyst carrier is substantially free from alumina. This catalyst can oxidize at least hydrocarbons in exhaust gases at a high catalytic activity even at low temperatures, and at the same time can suppress SO.sub.2 from converting into sulfates. This catalyst does not employ substance like alumina exhibiting solid acidity as a catalyst carrier. Further, this catalyst can be used for purifying exhaust gases from diesel engines to suppress particulates and sulfates from being emitted, and to improve conversions of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide.
Abstract:
A sequence control apparatus including a counter which sequentially designates memory areas of a sequence memory to read out respective sets of operation commands to represent respective events of operation of a controllable device. The counter also sequentially designates memory areas of an interlock condition memory to read out respective sets of interlock conditions that should be satisfied for the corresponding events of operation to be performed. When each event of operation is completed, the counter is incremented or decremented, and the conditions of the controllable device are checked to determine whether the set of interlock conditions for the currently designated event of operation are satisfied.
Abstract:
A double-hung window has auxiliary vertical frames mounted on respective left and right stiles of inner and outer sliding sash units without providing respective outer peripheries of rectangular stile-rail assemblies of the inner and the outer sliding sash units with frameworks wherein the inner and the outer sliding sash units are respectively constructed so as to be slidably moved up and down freely through the auxiliary vertical frames along inner and outer guide recesses formed, respectively, in the left and right vertical frame members of a window frame, so that the outer surfaces of the glasses attached to inner and outer sliding sashes can be readily cleaned, and that the weight of the inner and the outer sliding sashes can be reduced so as to reduce the resistance to sliding thereof, thereby enabling the inner and the outer sliding sashes to be slidably moved smoothly.
Abstract:
A fluctuating drive system comprises: random generating means for generating a randomly varying physical quantity; control means for controlling the randomly varying physical quantity; amplifying means for amplifying the controlled physical quantity; and driving means for driving an energy generating means in accordance with the amplified physical quantity, thereby to generate the randomly varying energy from the energy generating means. With this system, the environment or stimulus is positively fluctuated at random with l/f characteristics or the like.
Abstract:
A canister for trapping a fuel vapor vaporized in a fuel tank has a casing defining an adsorption chamber therein, an adsorbent capable of adsorbing the fuel vapor and filled in the adsorption chamber and a flow regulation plate disposed in the casing. The casing has a fuel introducing port configured to introduce the fuel vapor from the fuel tank into the adsorption chamber, and an air communicating port communicating the adsorption chamber with the atmosphere. The air communicating port is formed on a side surface of the casing extending in a direction of gravitational force. The flow regulation plate disposed at an end of the adsorption chamber near the air communicating port and has an opening configured to communicate the adsorption chamber with the air communicating port. The opening is positioned above the air communicating port in the direction of gravitational force.
Abstract:
A canister has a canister case, an adsorbent chamber defined in the canister case, and an adsorbent disposed in the adsorbent chamber. The adsorbent can adsorb fuel vapor as the fuel vapor flows through the adsorbent chamber in a first direction. On the other hand, the adsorbent allows desorption of fuel vapor as air flows through the adsorbent in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The adsorbent chamber includes a first adsorbent chamber and a second absorbent chamber communicating with each other. The first adsorbent chamber is disposed on an upstream side of the second adsorbent chamber with respect to the first direction. The adsorbent includes a first adsorbent disposed in the first adsorbent chamber and a second adsorbent disposed in the second adsorbent chamber. A desorption promoting device is disposed in the second adsorbent chamber and can promote desorption of fuel vapor from the second adsorbent.
Abstract:
When a demodulated signal of a radio signal in Ch1 transmitted from a TPMS transmitter is acquired, a control IC controls the frequency of a signal inputted from a PLL circuit to a mixer into a frequency for converting a TPMS radio signal into an intermediate frequency signal of a specific frequency. When the demodulated signal of the radio signal transmitted from a portable unit through two frequency channels is acquired, the control IC determines a channel whose state of communication is favorable from between Ch2 and Ch3, and controls the signal frequency for conversion into a frequency for converting a keyless radio signal in the determined channel into an intermediate frequency signal.

A shaped heat storage material has a shaped body composed of a binder and heat storage capsules containing a heat storage material therein. And, the shaped body has at least one of a projection, a depressed portion and a hollow structure defining a hollow space therein.
Abstract:
A canister includes a first fuel vapor adsorption device and a second fuel vapor adsorption device. The second fuel vapor adsorption device can adsorb a part of fuel vapor that still remains in a gas after desorption by the first fuel vapor adsorption device. The second fuel vapor adsorption device includes a first passage containing a fuel vapor adsorption material and a second passage containing no fuel vapor adsorption material. The first passage and the second passage allow the gas to flow therethrough. A gas introduction device allows the fuel vapor to flow from the second passage into the first passage.
