Abstract:
A fastening device for heat slug includes a frame, two projections and a heat slug. The frame defines an accommodating space therein. The projections are formed on the frame. The heat slug has a plurality of shoulders and is located in the accommodating space. The frame abuts against the shoulders of the heat slug. Thereby the fastening device of the invention is compatible with different types of CPU such as Pentium IV and K7 types.
Abstract:
A programmable interconnect system having a plurality of PICs connected via a plurality of buses where each bus may have two or more branches connecting the PICs is disclosed. Generally speaking, for a system with N PICs, there can be N−1 different type of buses having 2 to N corresponding branches to the N PICs. For example, for a four PIC programmable interconnect system, there can be three types of buses connecting the PICs, a two-branch bus, a three-branch bus, and a four-branch bus. Note that the term “bus” refers to one or more signal paths connecting the PICs. For each type of buses, there can be several layouts.
Abstract:
A stationary exercise device including a base frame, a load carrier unit, and two exercising units, each exercising unit including a first oscillatory arm and a second oscillatory arm respectively pivoted to the base frame, a connecting plate having a front end pivoted to the second oscillatory arm and a rear end, a guide link having a top end fixedly mounted with a hand grip and a bottom end pivoted to the rear end of the connecting plate, the top and bottom ends of the guide link being moved along a respective oval track and the middle part thereof turned on an axis when the stationary exercise device is operated.
Abstract:
Engineered orange-red fluorescent proteins with enhanced fluorescent properties, obtained by mutagenesis of mNeptune2, are disclosed. In particular, the invention relates to engineered orange-red fluorescent proteins excitable with cyan light having increased emission intensity and their use in bioluminescent resonance energy transfer systems and fluorescence and bioluminescence imaging.
Abstract:
A system and method for example method for displaying enterprise data via a user interface display. An example method includes providing a first user option to select enterprise data to be displayed, yielding selected data in response thereto; employing a capsule to present a visualization or infographic characterizing at least a portion of the selected data; and providing a second user option to flip or rotate the capsule, thereby displaying additional enterprise data that is related to or representative of the selected data or portion thereof. In a specific embodiment, the first user option includes a slider bar that enables a user to specify a time frame to filter the enterprise data.
Abstract:
The device of the present invention comprises a limiting face configured to limit a movement of a stop arm of a toilet flush system actuator unit, that may be mounted to a toilet flush valve body by at least one retention piece. A fulcrum piece may also be provided, the fulcrum piece including a fulcrum hole adaptably sized to receive a fulcrum pin of a toilet flush system actuator unit, such that when the device is installed on a broken toilet flush valve the device will substitute, or provide support, for the support arms with fulcrum holes and stop tab for the toilet tilt valve.
Abstract:
A method to connect piping and a piping connection, having the features of a ring connector configured to snugly fit around an external diameter of a pipe; and a piping shield connected to the ring connector, the piping shield having at least one observation window cut into the shield, wherein the piping shield covers an abutment end of the pipe to be connected, wherein a joint between the ring connector and the piping shield forms a connection.
Abstract:
An electric power generation system is disclosed. The electric power generation system includes a string configured to be pulled; a bobbin configured to rotate when the string is unwound from the bobbin as it is being pulled; an electric power generator having a rotor wherein the rotor is mechanically coupled to the bobbin; and a mass attached to the rotor to store rotational energy and to output rotational energy while the string is being wound around the bobbin as the string is retracted.
Abstract:
A method of coupling a mechanical power source through an electrical power generator to an electrical load is disclosed. A characteristic of an electrical output is measured from the electrical power generator produced during a power generation cycle during which there is a coupling of the mechanical power source through the electrical power generator to the electrical load. The coupling of the mechanical power source is adjusted through the electrical power generator to the electrical load during a subsequent power generation cycle based at least in part on the measured characteristic of the electrical output.
