    摘要: A Viterbi decoder circuit for decoding an encoded data signal containing Viterbi branch metric information includes a configurable memory which is alternately configured to have four stages of memory in which the incoming data signal is stored and selectively read out based upon Viterbi trellis address information contained therein. While the present data of the incoming data signal is being stored in one memory stage, individual bits from selected bytes of previously stored incoming data are read out from a second memory stage and used to form the next address for the second memory stage and an address for a third memory stage from which further previously stored incoming data are read out and decoded to form the final Viterbi-decoded data. Starting from an arbitrarily selected initial address within the second memory stage, each bit which is read out contains address information corresponding to a Viterbi trellis address and determines the next address within the second memory stage from which the next bit is to be read.

    摘要: The present invention provides a technique for data detection signal processing for removing echo interference and/or distortion from a received 2B1Q coded signal. According to the preferred technique, the received 2B1Q signal Q, where q=(-3, -1, +1, +3), is shifted one bit to the left to generate a corresponding shifted symbol alphabet S, where S=(-2, 0, +2, +4). The shifted received signals are then processed through a transversal filter. That is, the signal is provided to a delay line which is tapped at intervals corresponding to the symbol width of the received signal. Each tap along the delay line is connected through an amplifier to a summing device that provides an output y(n), where ##EQU1## The tap gains, or coefficients a.sub.j, are set to subtract the effects of interference from symbols that are adjacent in time to the desired symbol. In an adaptive embodiment of the invention, the output y(n) resulting from the convolution between the transmitted symbols s(n) and the gain coefficients a.sub.j. The output of the transmission channel and the filter output y(n) are then processed in accordance with a convergence algorithm to develop an error feedback signal which is used to update the gain coefficients a.sub.j.

    摘要: A distortion correcting analog to digital converter (ADC) system includes a plurality of ADCs configured to convert an analog signal to a plurality of digital ADC outputs, wherein the plurality of ADCs are configured to generate a composite signal based on the plurality of ADC outputs, there is an offset between a first one of the plurality of ADC outputs and a second one of the plurality of ADC outputs, the offset causing distortion in the composite signal. The system further includes an adaptive self-linearizer configured to receive the composite signal, and to perform self-linearization based on the composite signal to correct for the distortion in the composite signal.Generating a distortion corrected digital signal includes converting an analog signal to a plurality of digital signals; generating a composite signal based on the plurality of digital signals; wherein there is an offset between a first one of the plurality of ADC outputs and a second one of the plurality of ADC outputs, the offset causing distortion in the composite signal. The method further includes sending the composite signal to an adaptive self-linearizer and performing self-linearization based on the composite signal to correct for distortion in the composite signal.
