Abstract:
A plasma display panel (PDP) with improved bright room contrast while achieving a high opening ratio and high luminance. The PDP includes display electrodes that includes auxiliary electrodes that suppress reflection of incident light off the discharge cells. With address electrodes formed on the rear substrate and the display electrodes formed on the front substrate, auxiliary electrodes connect pairs of display electrodes together. The auxiliary electrodes and the main bus electrodes extend into the discharge cells and reflect the external light. The opaque main bus and auxiliary electrodes are combined with a transparent electrode portion that overlies the main bus and the auxiliary portions to form the display electrodes.
Abstract:
A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) includes: front and rear substrates facing each other; address electrodes arranged on the rear substrate; barrier ribs arranged between the front and rear substrate to define first, second, and third color discharge cells, the discharge cells being filled with a discharge gas; first, second, and third color layers adapted to be excited by the discharge gas and to emit light; and display electrodes arranged on the front substrate, the display electrodes including non-transparent protrusion electrodes protruding inward from edges of the discharge cells. The non-transparent protrusion electrodes of at least two of the first, second, and third color discharge cells have different areas.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel includes first and second substrates mounted opposing one another, address electrodes formed along a first direction on the second substrate, barrier ribs mounted between the first and second substrates and defining a plurality of discharge cells, phosphor layers formed respectively in the discharge cells, and first electrodes and second electrodes formed on the first substrate along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each first electrode and second electrode includes a bus electrode formed along the second direction and a plurality of transparent electrodes formed extending from the bus electrode in a direction toward centers of the discharge cells. Pairs of the transparent electrodes oppose one another respectively in areas corresponding to the discharge cells, and the transparent electrodes comprise light-blocking members.
Abstract:
A method for assembling a rocket propulsion motor including a motor case and a nozzle assembly, wherein the assembling is carried out under vacuum so that air can not be presented between a silicon sealant layer and a first O-ring disposed between the motor case and the nozzle assembly, thereby preventing the generation of air passage and air pocket in a silicon sealant layer coated over the assembled portions of the rocket propulsion motor. The silicon sealant is prepared by mixing a silicon sealant material with a setting agent. The mixing is also carried out under vacuum, so as to prevent the sealant from containing air. For venting air from a space defined the silicon sealant layer and the first O-ring under vacuum, a plurality of spacing bolts are used which serve to space the motor case and the nozzle assembly at a predetermined distance.
Abstract:
Tobacco stems are expanded by superheated steam in a U-shaped, tubular expansion device, which is provided with a venturi tube and cooling jackets. The superheated steam under high pressure is ejected toward the venturi tube. The rapid speed of the steam stream creates a Bernoulli flow, namely strong suction force in the venturi tube. By this force, the tobacco stems, which are being continuously supplied into a hopper from a tobacco cutter, are automatically sucked into the expansion device via the venturi tube. Tobacco stems primarily expanded in the expansion device are sent to a cyclone system and further puffed therein.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for manufacturing a compressed lump of metal scrap that is capable of compressing various kinds of collected metal scrap into a standardized form so that the metal scrap can be directly introduced into a blast furnace. A through hole is formed in a compressed lump of metal scrap during manufacture of the compressed lump of metal scrap so that the compressed lump of metal scrap can be efficiently melted and the interior of the compressed lump of metal scrap can be observed.
Abstract:
A multi-step exposed image acquisition method by an electronic shutter and a photography apparatus using the same are provided. The photography apparatus includes a controller configured to divide an image sensor into a plurality of areas and separately control an exposure time with respect to the plurality of areas of the image sensor and a display configured to display an image on which the exposure times for the areas has been controlled. Accordingly, a multi-step exposed image can be acquired from an image having varying brightness.
Abstract:
An X-ray device is disclosed. In one embodiment, the device includes an X-ray detector and a power contactor which includes a contact terminal. The device may further include an X-ray table that provides a space into which the X-ray detector is inserted and that includes a push pin pressing the power contactor, wherein the power contactor selectively protrudes from the inside to the outside of the X-ray detector due to a pressure applied by the push pin, and the contact terminal is electrically connected to a power terminal of the X-ray table. The X-ray detector prevents exposure of the power contactor to the outside thereof when the X-ray detector is carried or transported and thus prevents a malfunction of the X-ray detector.
Abstract:
A double-acting apparatus and method for manufacturing metal scrap compression materials, in which a variety of shapes of collected metal scrap are compressed into pieces having a standardized shape such that they can be directly loaded into a blast furnace, thereby enhancing productivity. Two compression chambers are disposed at both sides of a first compression cylinder such that metal scrap is loaded into the compression chambers. In particular, when one of first press plates moves forward inside a first compression space of one of the compression chambers, the other one of the first press plates moves backward and returns to an idle position.
Abstract:
A backlight assembly includes a light guiding plate and a plurality of first light sources. The light guiding plate includes a light exiting surface through which light can exit, a light guiding surface positioned opposite to the light exiting surface, and a first surface extending between the light guiding surface and the light exiting surface and inclined with respect to the light guiding surface by a first angle. The first angle is an acute angle. The first light sources can generate light, and are disposed under the light guiding plate. These first light sources are disposed adjacent to a first edge connecting the first surface with the light guiding surface.
