Abstract: A mounting assembly for electro-mechanically connecting an electrically-powered device to a structure includes a housing, a first printed circuit board, an adapter, and a second printed circuit board. The housing has a shape defining a front opening and a first mating structure. The first printed circuit board is located within the housing and has a first plurality of electrical contacts facing the front opening. The adapter is attachable to the device and has a second mating structure that removably engages with the first mating structure of the housing. The second printed circuit board is coupled with the adapter and has a second plurality of electrical contacts exposed on its back surface to electrically connect to the first plurality of electrical contacts when the first mating structure of the housing engages with the second mating structure of the adapter.

Abstract: A pre-roll image capture method implemented by a power-limited security device includes a step of, in response to initialization, or when no motion is detected within an area monitored by the device for at least a duration, capturing a first plurality of images of the monitored area at a first image-capture frequency. The method also includes storing the first plurality of images in a cyclic buffer of the device. The method also includes, in response to detected motion within the monitored area, capturing a second plurality of images of the monitored area at a second image-capture frequency that exceeds the first frequency. The method also includes storing the second plurality of images at the device and, after storing of the second plurality of images, transmitting the first plurality of images from the cyclic buffer and the second plurality of images to a client device associated with the device.

Abstract: Floodlight controllers with wireless audio/video recording and communication features in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, a floodlight controller for activating and deactivating a floodlight device may include a camera including an image sensor and having a field of view, a switch having an open condition and a closed condition, and a processor operatively connected to the camera and operatively connected to the switch, wherein the processor is configured to receive an input from the camera and produce an output to the switch to cause the switch to transition from the open condition to the closed condition.
