摘要: A low emission turbine includes a reverse flow can-type combustor that generally includes a primary and secondary fuel delivery system that can be independently controlled to produce low CO, UHC, and NOx emissions at design set point and at conditions other than design set point. The reverse flow can-type combustor generally includes an annularly arranged array of swirler and mixer assemblies within the combustor, wherein each swirler and mixer in the array includes a primary and secondary fuel delivery system that can be independently controlled. Also disclosed herein is a can-type combustor that includes fluid passageways that perpendicularly impinge the backside of a heat shield. Processes for operating the can-type combustors are also disclosed.

摘要: A power system includes a fuel preconditioner adapted to convert a fuel to at least one conditioned fuel, a pulse detonation combustor, and a turbine. The pulse detonation combustor is adapted to receive the conditioned fuel and a primary oxidizer and to detonate a mixture including the conditioned fuel and the primary oxidizer and exhaust a number of detonation products. The turbine is positioned downstream from and in flow communication with the pulse detonation combustor. A power plant includes at least one fuel preconditioner and a number of power systems. Each power system includes a pulse detonation combustor and a turbine positioned downstream from and in flow communication with the pulse detonation combustor.

摘要: A manufacturing method, within a modularized manufacturing environment for stabilizing a phylon article that is produced utilizing a heat press, is provided. Initially, the method includes immersing a phylon article in a first tank, with a fluid disposed therein, and withdrawing the phylon article from exposure with the fluid. Typically, the midsole is heated from its production with the heat press when it is placed into the first tank. The immersion in the first tank acts to cool the phylon article, thereby stabilizing the heated phylon. The phylon article may be next placed in a second tank, with a fluid disposed therein, and withdrawn from exposure with the fluid. The fluid of the first tank may reside at a temperature comparable to or higher than the temperature of the fluid of the second tank. Recursively exposing the heated phylon article to the fluid of the tanks incrementally decreases the volume of the article.

摘要: Customized articles of footwear are produced by defining options that can be selected by a customer when submitting a custom order. These options typically include model options, functional options, and aesthetic options. These options are created by a design source, such as a shoe designer within a particular market, and presented to the customer when making the order. Upon a customer selecting one or more of the options at a user interface, the selected options are converted to specifications associated with the order. A work-load engine is employed to generate, based on the specifications, a work order that includes a dataflow for selecting appropriate stations on a manufacturing floor to participate in a manufacturing process, and a workflow for instructing each of the appropriate stations to perform a sequence of operations, within the manufacturing process, that result in fabricating individual components of the article of footwear according to the order.

摘要: A premixed partial oxidation (POx) syngas generator is provided. The syngas generator includes a premixing device configured to mix a fuel stream and oxygen in a premixing region to form a gaseous pre-mix. The premixing device includes a fuel inlet configured to introduce the fuel stream within the premixing device and a flow conditioning device configured to pre-condition the fuel stream. The premixing device also includes an oxygen inlet configured to introduce oxygen into the fuel stream to facilitate premixing of the fuel stream and oxygen in the premixing region located downstream of the flow conditioning device. The syngas generator also includes a combustion chamber configured to combust the gaseous pre-mix from the premixing device to produce a synthesis gas enriched with carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas.
