摘要: A system in which the controller (24) of a multi section diode laser such as a SG-DBR (10) is configured so that the laser can be swept rapidly in a pre-determined frequency direction through a series of frequency points by asserting a pre-calibrated series of sets of control input values to the sections of the diode laser, wherein the frequency points are obtained from cavity modes in a plurality of different supermodes, and the sets of control input values are pre-determined to take account of thermal transients that are known to arise from jumps in the output modes that occur when sweeping through the pre-calibrated series of sets of control input values in the pre-determined frequency direction.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and system for providing a set of continuous tuning regions from a discontinuously tuned laser, by providing a wavelength reference having at least first and second resonance peaks, sweeping the laser across a pre-determined wavelength range of the wavelength reference, and defining, within the laser sweep, one or more regions of continuous tuning operation of the laser, each of the regions corresponding to a response of the laser between adjacent resonance peaks of the wavelength reference. The advantage of the invention is that it provides a way for stitching together continuous regions of a multi-section tunable laser in an efficient and accurate manner.

摘要: A technique for providing a desired level of color balance in field sequential color systems with brightness enhancement. In color wheels having a spectrally-broad transmissive segment, the spectrally-broad segment has a transmittance that is selected to provide a desired level of color balance. This can include transmittance characteristics that are inversely related to the spectral characteristics of the light source or optics. In color switches, this can include varying the amplitude and time duration of the contribution from each of the three primary colors.

摘要: Electronic signature functions, such as electronically signing an electronic record, verification of an electronic signature and issuance of keys, may be performed by a server or other central computer. For electronic signing, the server may access a key on a protected database and encryption programs to electronically sign an electronic record. For signature verification, the server may receive the electronic record and electronic signature, determine a key to decrypt the electronic signature, and then determine whether the electronic signature is valid. For issuance of keys, the server may receive a user request to generate keys, may generate the keys, and store the keys in a database which is accessible by the server, but which may not be accessible by the user.

摘要: An implantable access device for allowing repeat access to a site, space, device, or other object, fluid, tissue or region within the body of a patient. The implantable device, in one embodiment, includes a housing having an elongated open guidance channel that leads to an entrance orifice, a valve assembly communicating with the entrance orifice, and an exit orifice. The device permits access via the percutaneous insertion of an accessing filament such as a needle through the entrance orifice and into the valve assembly, which opens to allow the passage of fluids or other filaments such as guide wires or optical fibers. The device can be used for the introduction of therapeutic agents, for the infusion or withdrawal of fluids, or for the introduction of sensing, sampling, or treatment devices to another implanted device or to regions within the patient.
