摘要: The invention relates to a method and system for providing a set of continuous tuning regions from a discontinuously tuned laser, by providing a wavelength reference having at least first and second resonance peaks, sweeping the laser across a pre-determined wavelength range of the wavelength reference, and defining, within the laser sweep, one or more regions of continuous tuning operation of the laser, each of the regions corresponding to a response of the laser between adjacent resonance peaks of the wavelength reference. The advantage of the invention is that it provides a way for stitching together continuous regions of a multi-section tunable laser in an efficient and accurate manner.

摘要: A technique for providing a desired level of color balance in field sequential color systems with brightness enhancement. In color wheels having a spectrally-broad transmissive segment, the spectrally-broad segment has a transmittance that is selected to provide a desired level of color balance. This can include transmittance characteristics that are inversely related to the spectral characteristics of the light source or optics. In color switches, this can include varying the amplitude and time duration of the contribution from each of the three primary colors.

摘要: Electronic signature functions, such as electronically signing an electronic record, verification of an electronic signature and issuance of keys, may be performed by a server or other central computer. For electronic signing, the server may access a key on a protected database and encryption programs to electronically sign an electronic record. For signature verification, the server may receive the electronic record and electronic signature, determine a key to decrypt the electronic signature, and then determine whether the electronic signature is valid. For issuance of keys, the server may receive a user request to generate keys, may generate the keys, and store the keys in a database which is accessible by the server, but which may not be accessible by the user.

摘要: An implantable access device for allowing repeat access to a site, space, device, or other object, fluid, tissue or region within the body of a patient. The implantable device, in one embodiment, includes a housing having an elongated open guidance channel that leads to an entrance orifice, a valve assembly communicating with the entrance orifice, and an exit orifice. The device permits access via the percutaneous insertion of an accessing filament such as a needle through the entrance orifice and into the valve assembly, which opens to allow the passage of fluids or other filaments such as guide wires or optical fibers. The device can be used for the introduction of therapeutic agents, for the infusion or withdrawal of fluids, or for the introduction of sensing, sampling, or treatment devices to another implanted device or to regions within the patient.

The hardenable two part acrylic composition includes an acrylic polymer composition first part and an acrylic monomer composition second part. The acrylic polymer composition first part includes a first type of acrylic polymer particles wherein each first type of acrylic polymer particle is formed of a network of coalesced emulsion polymerized acrylic microparticles or is macroporous. The acrylic polymer composition may include emulsion polymerised acrylic polymer particles of particle size between 10 and 2000 nm and includes the use of acrylic polymer particles formed of a network of coalesced emulsion polymerized acrylic microparticles as a dough time reduction agent in a hardenable two part acrylic composition.

摘要: A load score system includes a metabolic sensor such as a heart rate sensor for a subject is configured to output metabolic data for the subject. A biomechanical load sensing subsystem for the subject is configured to output biomechanical load data. A speed sensor subsystem for the subject is configured to output speed data. One or more databases store zones and a weighting factor for each zone for metabolic data, biomechanical load data, and speed data. A performance module is responsive to the metabolic data, the biomechanical load data, and the speed data and the one or more databases and is configured to calculate a metabolic load score for the subject. A biomechanical load score for the subject and a speed load score for the subject are also calculated. An output module displays the subject's calculated metabolic, biomechanical, and speed load scores.

摘要: The invention relates to a system and method of dispersion measurement in an optical fibre network. The invention provides means for transmitting from a transmitting node, using a single tunable laser transmitter, two consecutive bursts of data at different wavelengths λ1 and λ2 to a receiver node, wherein each burst of data comprises a unique sequence of amplitude modulated data, and wherein the two sequences are injected with a fixed known delay. The delay between the two consecutive bursts of data is maintained by selective switching of the tunable laser, such that clock recovery circuitry at the receiver node remains locked during the delay between the two bursts. The dispersion measurements method of the present invention is based on walk off and bit position detection between two wavelengths suitable for fast optical burst switching network is described. This method does not require an operator, extra equipment, or traffic interruption on the network.
