Abstract:
In a communications receiver for quadrature demodulation, a feedback technique for reducing the image response of the receiver. The communications receiver includes an I demodulator and a Q demodulator. A local oscillator (LO) signal is provided by a PLL to a quadrature LO generator that provides an LO_I signal to an I demodulator and an LO_Q signal to a Q demodulator. The LO_I and LO_Q signals are amplitude and phase-controlled versions of the LO signal. An image/signal ratio (I/S) detector detects the relative phase difference and the relative amplitude difference between the respective output terminals of the I demodulator and the Q demodulator and applies an amplitude control signal and a phase control signal to corresponding amplitude control and phase control inputs of the quadrature LO generator. The I/S detector calibrates the quadrature LO generator during the interstitial interval between the reception of data packets. The control signals from the I/S detector adjust the relative amplitude and phase of the LO_I and LO_Q signals in a manner that reduces the image response of the communications receiver.
Abstract:
This invention provides novel prostate cancer specific internalizing human antibodies. The antibodies are useful by themselves to prevent growth and/or proliferation of prostate cancer cells. The antibodies can also be formulated as chimeric molecules to direct an effector (e.g. a cytotoxin, an imaging reagent, a drug, etc.) to a prostate tumor site.
Abstract:
A method of communicating with a transceiver (120). In one arrangement, the method of communicating with the transceiver can be performed in a systemless group environment. Synchronization information (150) can be received from a mobile transceiver (110) and used to synchronize to the mobile transceiver. The synchronization information can include a timing offset and a frequency offset. Synchronization can be maintained until a predetermined condition is met, for example, a predetermined amount of group inactivity.
Abstract:
A method for transferring messages between a first processor (102) and a second processor (104) includes the step of requesting an empty message buffer (106) from the first processor or master processor (102). The first processor (102) sends an empty message buffer pointer (108) which the second processor uses to locate the allocated memory within the shared memory (112). The second processor (104) then loads its message in the allocated memory area and sends the message (110). After receiving the message, the first processor (102) releases the allocated memory area found in shared memory (112) so that it can be used in the future. An electronic device such as a radio communication device that uses the shared memory scheme is also described.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods for the use of compounds as depicted by structure I, pharmaceutical compositions containing the same, and methods for the prophylaxis, management and treatment of metabolic diseases and diseases modulated by MCD inhibition. The compounds disclosed in this invention are useful for the prophylaxis, management and treatment of diseases involving in malonyl-CoA regulated glucose/fatty acid metabolism pathway. In particular, these compounds and pharmaceutical composition containing the same are indicated in the prophylaxis, management and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and obesity.
Abstract:
Methods, compositions and articles of manufacture for assaying a sample for a target polynucleotide are provided. A sample suspected of containing the target polynucleotide is contacted with a polycationic multichromophore and a sensor PBP that can bind to the target polynucleotide. The sensor PBP comprises a signaling chromophore to absorb energy from the excited multichromophore and emit light in the presence of the target polynucleotide. The methods can be used in multiplex form. Kits comprising reagents for performing such methods are also provided.

Abstract:
Flavonoid compounds may be prepared that are selective for certain cell organelles, and may be used as biological imaging agents. Organelles that may be imaged with flavonoid compounds include mitochondria and lysosomes. Advantageously, the flavonoids show specificity to certain organelles and may exhibit a florescence “turn-on” mechanism, where the flavonoids that have target an organelle exhibit a florescence response when excited.
Abstract:
Semiconductor devices are provided including an active layer, a gate structure, a spacer, and a source/drain layer. The active layer is on the substrate and includes germanium. The active layer includes a first region having a first germanium concentration, and a second region on both sides of the first region. The second region has a top surface getting higher from a first portion of the second region adjacent to the first region toward a second portion of the second region far from the first region, and has a second germanium concentration less than the first germanium concentration. The gate structure is formed on the first region of the active layer. The spacer is formed on the second region of the active layer, and contacts a sidewall of the gate structure. The source/drain layer is adjacent to the second region of the active layer.
Abstract:
A vehicle shading apparatus may include a first front shading control unit, a first rear shading control unit, a second top shading control unit, and a second rear shading control unit. In one embodiment, one end of the first top shading control unit is connected to the second top shading control unit. One end of the first rear shading control unit and a horizontal supporting unit are connected to the second rear shading control unit. The second top shading control unit and second rear shading control unit both include a shading cloth extending along the body of the vehicle. The present invention is advantageous because it has an automatic shading cloth expand/restore control unit and high-strength supporting unit. It is portable, easy to install and has the shading all around the vehicle to effectively block the sunlight.
