    摘要: The present invention relates to a brightness enhancement film and a backlight module having the brightness enhancement film. The brightness enhancement film includes first micro-reflectors and second micro-reflectors. The cross-section of each of the first and second micro-reflectors is a triangle having two same or different base angles and a wavy crest line. The widths of the first and second micro-reflectors vary along with the valleys and peaks to broaden or to narrow with respect to two sides thereof such that the neighboring lines between the first and second micro-reflectors are wavy. The backlight module is coupled with the brightness enhancement film. This enhances brightness, illuminates evenly, and avoids a moire effect.

    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus and corresponding method for reducing temporal noise of a target frame and enhancing the motion of the target frame. The apparatus includes a storage device, a temporal noise reducing circuit, and a motion enhancing circuit. The storage device stores a first filtered signal of a previous frame. The previous frame is previous to the target frame. The temporal noise reducing circuit reduces temporal noise of the target frame according to the first filtered signal and an image signal of the target frame. The temporal noise reducing circuit then generates a second filtered signal of the target frame, which is stored in the storage device. The motion enhancing circuit enhances the motion of the target frame according to the first and the second filtered signals, and generates a motion-enhanced signal of the target frame.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a driving method thereof are disclosed. In order to obtain high-quality images, a signal preprocessor is incorporated in the gray signal modulator of conventional LCDs. The signal preprocessor can be specifically designed as a noise-reduction preprocessor for suppressing the noise induced from the input gray signals, or designed for detecting a certain character of input gray signals for further processes. After be processed by the signal preprocessor, optimized modified gray signals can be obtained from the signal converter for driving the LCD, thereby producing high-quality images.

    摘要: A micro-reflective liquid crystal display including an upper polarizing plate, an upper substrate having transparent electrode, a color light-filtering plate, a liquid crystal layer, an inner polarizing film, a lower substrate having transparent electrode, driving cell and storage capacitor, a lower polarizing plate and a backlight source. The inner polarizing film is deposited on one face of the lower substrate adjacent to the liquid crystal layer. The color light-filtering plate is formed with an opening corresponding to the storage capacitor, whereby external light can go in through the opening. The upper metal layer of the storage capacitor forms a reflective region for reflecting the external light to serve as a light source for the liquid crystal display. Accordingly, when exposed to outdoor sunlight, the micro-reflective liquid crystal display can still present a clear image.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a method and a device for independent color management by using a look-up table (LUT) so as to adjust the color saturation of a single color independently. The method comprises steps of: receiving a color signal of an input pixel; determining color flags and initial saturation values from said color signal by using a look-up table (LUT); btaining user-controlled color gains according to said color flags; multilplying each of said initial saturation values with one of said corresponding user controlled color gains so as to output an adjusted saturation value; determining a final gain from each said adjusted saturation value by bilinear interpolation according lower-bits of said color signal; and obtaining a new color signal according to said final gain and said color signal. The device comprises a look-up table circuit, defining color flags and initial saturation values as a plurality of points on a coordinate system and receiving a color signal as to output a plurality of signals; a gain output device, receiving said color flags, said initial saturation values and user controlled color gains as to output adjusted saturation gain signals according to said initial saturation values and said user controlled color gains; and an operation unit, receiving said color signal, said initial gain signals as to adjust said color signal according to lower bits of said color signal and said adjusted saturation gain signals.
