    摘要: A digital broadcast system and method of processing data are disclosed. A channel equalizer includes a frequency domain converter receiving a known data sequence, when the known data sequence is periodically inserted and transmitted in general data, and converting the received data to frequency domain data, a CIR estimator using the data being received during a known data section and known data generated by a receiving system, so as to estimate a CIR, a CIR calculator interpolating or extrapolating the CIR estimated by the CIR estimator in accordance with characteristics of the general data being received, a coefficient calculator converting the CIR being outputted from the CIR calculator to a frequency domain CIR and calculating and outputting an equalization coefficient, and a distortion compensator multiplying the equalization coefficient calculated by the coefficient calculator with the data converted to frequency domain data by the frequency domain converter, thereby compensating channel distortion.

The null data generator may generate null data. The main service multiplexer may multiplex and output compression encoded main service data and additional data for a main service at a pre-determined second data rate. The multiplexer may multiplex the output data of the main service multiplexer and the output data of the mobile service multiplexer at a pre-determined third data rate and transmitting the multiplexed data to at least one transmitter located at a remote position.

    摘要: A digital broadcasting system and a method of processing data are disclosed. Herein, additional encoding is performed on mobile service data, which are then transmitted, thereby providing robustness in the processed mobile service data, so that the mobile service data can respond more strongly against fast and frequent channel changes. The method of processing data in a transmitting system includes receiving mobile service data, encapsulating the received mobile service data to a transport stream (TS) packet, and outputting the encapsulated mobile service data as a mobile service data packet, and multiplexing a main service data packet including main service data and the encapsulated mobile service data packet, thereby transmitting the multiplexed data packets to at least one transmitter located in a remote site.
