Abstract:
An evaporative humidifier including a power unit housing, a blower assembly, a water tank, and a wick. The power unit housing includes an air entrance and an air exit. The blower assembly positioned in the power unit housing, the blower assembly being configured to draw air through the power unit housing when the evaporative humidifier is in an operational state in which humidified air is being supplied to an ambient environment. The water tank configured for storing water, and having no lower water outlet used when in the operational state. The wick positioned in the water tank such that water is drawn into the wick from the water tank, through the wick, and toward an air outlet, and such that when the evaporative humidifier is in the operational state, the blower assembly moves air from the air exit, through the wick, and toward the air outlet.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving, at one or more processors, an identifier that is uniquely associated with a civilian vehicle, and accessing a registration database to determine one or more personal computing devices that are registered with the identifier. The method includes detecting that at least one of the one or more personal computing devices is located onboard the civilian vehicle, and generating an activation request signal for transmission to the at least one personal computing device onboard the civilian vehicle. Responsive to receiving an acceptance signal from a first personal computing device of the at least one personal computing device onboard the civilian vehicle, the method includes wirelessly communicating information to said first personal computing device.
Abstract:
A system and method for generating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images is provided. The MRI system is directed to perform the dynamic contrast enhanced imaging study of the subject by exciting a two-dimensional (2D) slice within a portion of a field of view (FOV) of the MRI system and acquiring imaging data from the 2D slice by sampling k-space in a pseudorandom manner using sampling trajectories extending between a center of k-space and peripheral areas of k-space. Thereafter, the 2D slice is slid to another portion of the FOV at a velocity selected to be greater a velocity of the motion of the subject and the process is repeated for each of a plurality of 2D slices to create images of the subject where artifacts induced by the motion of the subject are reflected as geometric distortions.
Abstract:
An aspect of the present disclosure relates to a system, which may include a faceplate and an electrical receptacle or switch. The faceplate may include a panel having a first surface, a second surface, and an opening defined in the panel providing communication between the first and second surfaces. The faceplate may also include an interrupter extending from the first surface of the panel having at least two interrupter contacts thereon and a first electrical circuit operatively coupled to the interrupter contacts. The electrical receptacle or switch may include a housing and a second electrical circuit, wherein the second electrical circuit is in communication with the first electrical circuit when the faceplate is mounted on the electrical receptacle or switch and the interrupter is configured to interrupt the second electrical circuit.
Abstract:
An aspect of the present disclosure relates to an electrical receptacle configured to receive a plug having two or more prongs and capable of being connected to an associated load. The electrical receptacle may include a housing and a housing cover mounted on the housing including apertures for receiving at least one of the prongs. In addition, the receptacle may include at least two electrical contacts for engaging the prongs positioned in the housing, a magnetic current sensor defining an opening, wherein the magnetic current sensor opening is operatively coupled to an opening defined by at least one of the apertures. Wherein when one of the prongs is inserted through one of the apertures, the prong extends through the magnetic current sensor and engages at least one of said electrical contacts.
Abstract:
An acoustic transducer is disclosed that is capable of converting mechanical motion into acoustical energy may include a diaphragm and a support on one portion of the diaphragm. An actuator may then be provided that is operatively coupled to a second portion of the diaphragm. The support and actuator may be configured to be environmentally responsive to surrounding conditions of, e.g., heat and/or humidity which may then substantially maintain the diaphragm's acoustic performance.
Abstract:
A data transformation system and method for importing data from an implantable medical device from a particular manufacturer is provided. The data transformation system includes a data transformation engine. The data transformation engine includes a bootstrap subsystem that receives the data in a native format and determines the particular manufacturer. The data transformation engine also includes a data transformation component that categorizes at least some of the data into an object model representation and a data normalization component that normalizes at least some of the data in the object model representation and serializes the object model representation into an extensible markup language file. The data transformation engine further includes a schema transformer that validates the extensible markup language file.
Abstract:
A moveable media dam comprises a media dam rotatably connected to a dam shaft, the dam shaft extending from a lever. An arm has at least one camming member and the lever is engaged by the at least one camming member. The arm operably engages a gear train and further comprises an arm ring disposed over a gear of the gear train. The media dam is moveable between a first and second position. The device functions to clear a media feed zone and align leading edges of media sheets in order to inhibit multi-sheet feeds.
Abstract:
A milkshake machine or similar apparatus uses the grinding and shredding principles employed by conventional impeller-type waster disposers. The milkshake machine has a housing that defines an upper grinding chamber and a lower receiving chamber separated by a rotatable impeller disk that mixes together and drives ingredients to be mixed against shredding surfaces on the inner wall of the grinding chamber. The receiving chamber has a discharge outlet, and a return inlet is provided in the housing above the grinding chamber. A discharge conduit is connected at one end to the discharge outlet at has a return port and a discharge spout at its opposite end. A return conduit is connected at one end to the return port of the discharge conduit and at its opposite end to the return inlet. A valve mechanism is provided to divert the mixed and ground ingredients expelled into the discharge conduit either into the return conduit and back into the grinding chamber or out of the discharge spout. The valve mechanism may be operated manually or by a solenoid or other suitable actuator, and a timer mechanism may be provided to toll the mixing cycle. A rinse inlet may also be provided in the housing to receive a cleaning solution on demand for cleaning the apparatus. The timer mechanism and the automatic valve mechanism may be used to control a cleaning or rinsing cycle.
Abstract:
A water filter cartridge for use with a water faucet includes a cover and a filter element located within the cover. The cover has a single unfiltered water input connection and a pair of water output connections, one for filtered water and one for unfiltered water. There is a conduit within the cover connecting the unfiltered water input connection and the unfiltered water output connection. There is a flow path within the cover from said unfiltered water input connection, through said filter element, and connecting to said filtered water output connection.
