摘要: Printing forms or metallized images can be prepared electrophotographically by a process comprising the electrostatic chargeup, imagewise exposure and tonering of a photoconductor layer applied to an electroconductive base material, followed by fixing of the tonered image areas, removal of the photoconductive layer in the non-image areas by decoating and, where appropriate, etching of the bared base material surface. A recording material is used that comprises a photoconductive layer containing at least one organic n-conducting pigment in a concentration between 10 and 50 percent by weight and an organic p-conducting photoconductor in a concentration of 0 to 20 percent by weight, based on the layer weight, together with a binder which is soluble or dispersible in aqueous-alkaline solution. The decoating is carried out with an aqueous-alkaline decoater solution, which preferably contains alkali metal hydroxides and/or phosphates. The decoating is preferably carried out at an elevated temperature, for example, between about 30.degree. to 60.degree. C.

摘要: Known chimneys or chimney furnaces use flue gas flow units for heating buildings, said devices having displaceable or fixed obstacles for deflecting flue gas for generating flue gas turbulence. The invention relates to a device and method for transferring heat through a flue gas discharge pipe (28) in which (44, 45) pivotal guide plates (37) are inserted in the longitudinal direction of the pipe run, at which the flue gas flow (22) is more or less deflected in a sinuous line as function of the pivot angle (24) of the guide plates (37) that can be adjusted during furnace operation. A fan (19) can increase the flue gas flow (22). An optional furnace heat exchanger (29) generates additional hot water as needed. The controller (5) activates the actuators for the fan (19), guide plate pivot angle setting (24), and at least one circulating pump (10 or 11) as a function of the prescribed controlled variables such as flue gas temperature, reservoir temperature, heat exchanger performance, or flue gas flow.

摘要: The invention relates to a polarization compensating element (PCE) for a liquid crystal, e.g. liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS), display system manufactured using a linearly photo-polymerizable polymer (LPP) for orienting a photo-polymerizable liquid crystal polymer (LCP) film. To decrease the reflection, polarization conversion, and interference events in an LPP/LCP assembly the ΔN birefringence value of the LCP material is minimized. Dielectric coatings are added at various locations throughout the assembly for minimizing the amount of reflection, polarization conversion, and interference effects and for suppressing spatial retardance ripples.

摘要: In an inventive stent (10), helical filaments (12, 13) are disposed on a first tubular layer (11). The helical filaments (12, 13) are mutually phase-shifted such that they do not touch and lie in one plane. The helical filaments (12, 13) are completely coated by a second elastic tubular polymer layer (14) which is connected to the first elastic tubular layer (11). Further helical filaments may be disposed on the second elastic tubular layer (14). The inventive stent can be lengthened for introduction into a hollow organ and is self-expanding.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for short-cycle arc welding with drawn-arc ignition, wherein a stud is welded to a piece of sheet metal, with the following steps: provision of a stud having an end face with which the stud is welded to a welding surface of the sheet metal, wherein an integral distinct projection is formed in the end face, placement of the projection on the welding surface and switch-on of an electric pilot current, lifting of the stud from the welding surface, whereby an arc is drawn, establishment of a welding current flowing through the arc in such a manner that the end face and the welding face start to melt, lowering of the welding stud onto the welding surface, wherein the melts at the end face and welding surface mix, and switch-off of the welding current so that the entire melt solidifies to join the stud to the sheet metal in a material-to-material manner, wherein after lifting of the welding stud and before establishment of the welding current, an alternating cleaning current is initially established in a cleaning step that is designed to clean the welding surface and/or the end face of contaminants, such as lubricants or wax, and/or of coatings, for example corrosion-protective coatings of zinc.
