    摘要: A magnetic tape has a guide track for optically obtaining a tracking signal and an independent information track for storing information. The magnetic tape is partitioned into different kinds of zones. The guide tracks are provided with grooves or pits serving as tracking marks, and the tracking marks are selectively located in the zones depending on the kind of zone. Thus, the track spacing of the guide tracks in each zone can be increased, so that a tracking control can be performed for a high density recording medium without reducing the spot size of the light.

In the case of a conventional optical position detector for positioning a head for a high-density floppy disk, a light beam is tilted due to a tilt of a disk and interrupted in its returning path because the numerical aperture of an optical system is small and the quality of a signal used for position detection is easily deteriorated. Moreover, when decreasing the distance between object images in order to downsize an apparatus, noises of a light source increase and the quality of a signal is deteriorated.

    摘要: An optical information processing apparatus includes: an optical head for radiating a light beam onto an information storage medium and generating a reproduction signal from the light beam reflected an/or diffracted from the information storage medium, the information storage medium carrying optically readable information recorded thereon; a transportation member for causing a relative movement of the optical head with respect to the information storage medium; and a signal processing circuit for receiving the reproduction signal generated by the optical head and processing the reproduction signal. The reproduction signal obtained from the information storage medium irradiated with the light beam includes first information from a mark near a boundary between a region which is heated by the light beam to no less than a predetermined temperature and a first region which is at a temperature below the predetermined temperature, and second information from a mark near a boundary between the region which is heated to no less than the predetermined temperature and a second region which is at a temperature below the predetermined temperature. The signal processing circuit separates the first information from the second information, or vice versa, thereby obtaining from the reproduction signal the information recorded on the information storage medium.

    摘要: A signal processing device for an optical information reproducing apparatus is provided.
