    摘要: In a carrier assignment procedure, a mobile station and its serving base station exchange and negotiate carrier deployment and multi-carrier capability information, and make a well-informed carrier assignment decision based on the negotiation result. The carrier assignment procedure ensures that the assigned secondary carriers are not only supported by both the serving BS and the MS, but are also desirable under additional requirements and considerations. Furthermore, the carrier assignment decision may be updated based on additional considerations such as channel quality measurement and network load condition over the assigned carriers. Such updated assignment decision may be made by the base station in unsolicited manner, or based on a carrier re-assignment request from the mobile station.

    摘要: A communications apparatus is provided. A receiving module receives a signal with a predetermined signal bandwidth. A low pass filter filters the signal to obtain a filtered signal. A filter bandwidth of the low pass filter is wide enough to pass the regular sub-carrier frequency components and at least half of the guard sub-carrier frequency components of the signal. An analog to digital converter samples the filtered signal with a sampling rate exceeding a standard sampling rate defined in accordance with the predetermined signal bandwidth of the signal to obtain a plurality of digital samples. A Fast Fourier Transform module performs a fast Fourier transform on a predetermined number of points of the digital samples to obtain a plurality of transformed samples. The predetermined number exceeds a standard number defined in accordance with the predetermined carrier bandwidth. A sub-carrier collector collects the data from the transformed samples.

    摘要: A unified two-stage network entry procedure is provided for OFDM multi-carrier wireless communications systems. During a first stage, a mobile station performs a common network entry procedure using a primary radio frequency carrier and then exchanges multi-carrier capability information with a base station. In one embodiment, the base station transmits a network entry allowance indicator to assist the mobile station in selecting the primary carrier. The network entry allowance indicator comprises information of preference of one or more available carriers. During a second stage, the mobile station enables multi-carrier transmission over multiple frequency channels if both the mobile station and the base station support multi-carrier capability. Before enabling multi-carrier transmission, the mobile station may optionally perform additional ranging by transmitting a ranging request for a secondary carrier. In one embodiment, the base station replies with a ranging response in response to the ranging request through the primary carrier.

    摘要: A coexistence interference mitigation method is provided. In a wireless network, a wireless device is equipped with multiple radios in the same device platform. The wireless device also has a control entity that communicates with the multiple co-located radio modules. A first radio module receives a notification from the control entity. The notification informs a critical signaling status of a second radio module co-located with the first radio module. Upon receiving the notification, the first radio module stops uplink transmission due to coexistence interference and transmits a coexistence indicator to its serving eNB. After a certain period, the first radio module receives a second notification that informs a completion status of the critical signaling of the second radio module. Upon receiving the second notification, the first radio module resumes uplink transmission and transmits a coexistence resume indicator to the eNB.

    摘要: A power control method to mitigate in-device coexistence (IDC) interference is provided. A wireless communication device (UE) is equipped with a first LTE radio module and a second co-located WiFi/BT/GSNN radio module. Upon detecting coexistence or IDC interference, the UE applies power control method to mitigate the interference. In a first embodiment, the LTE radio module adjusts its power parameters locally without informing the serving eNB. In a second embodiment, the LTE radio module adjusts its power parameters and implicit informs the eNB through existing PHR reporting. In a third embodiment, the LTE radio module changes its power or power class and explicitly informs the eNB through UE capability or new RRC message or MAC CE. Power control can be used as a low cost and lightweight solution before applying other heavyweight solutions that either require more resource or control overhead, or have higher impact on throughput.

    摘要: A method of data transmission over guard sub-carriers is provided in a multi-carrier OFDM system. Adjacent radio frequency (RF) carriers are used to carry radio signals transmitted through adjacent frequency channels. A plurality of guard sub-carriers between adjacent frequency channels are aligned and identified for data transmission in a pre-defined physical resource unit. The identified guard sub-carriers do not overlap with normal data sub-carriers of the radio signals transmitted through the adjacent frequency channels. At least one of the identified guard sub-carriers is reserved as NULL sub-carrier. A flexible multi-carrier transceiver architecture is also provided in a multi-carrier OFDM system. Different multi-carrier and/or MIMO/SISO data transmission schemes are implemented by adaptively reconfigure same hardware modules including common MAC layer module, physical layer entities, and RF entities. Furthermore, the flexible multi-carrier transceiver architecture can be used to support data transmission over guard sub-carriers.

The communication control device is configured to control one or both of (1) signal transmission power of at least one antenna and (2) signal communication timing of at least one antenna. The communication control device is also configured to divide a service period of the antenna into multiple phases, to enable communication of signals directed toward or from the first group of relay stations in a first phase, and to enable the second group of relay stations to communicate signals with one or both of the user device and the base station, during at least a part of the first phase, independently from the signals directed toward or from the first group of relay stations.
