摘要: Image development methods, hard imaging devices, and image members are described. According to one embodiment, an image development method includes providing an image member comprising a surface having different portions of different electrical conductivities, wherein one of the portions defines an imaging pattern of an image, providing a development agent comprising a plurality of electrically charged image particles and a plurality of electrically charged charge directors over the image member, providing an electrical field proximate the image member having the development agent over the image member, and using the electrically charged charge directors and the electric field, directing the electrically charged image particles to the one of the portions of the surface of the image member to develop the image.

摘要: An apparatus and method for cleaning an image transfer surface in an image transfer device. The cleaning apparatus includes a first cleaning station and a second cleaning station positioned to consecutively clean the image transfer surface. The first and second cleaning stations apply cleaning fluid to the image transfer surface and remove cleaning fluid with residual material from the image transfer surface. A first tank supplies cleaning fluid to, and receives cleaning fluid with residual material from, the first cleaning station. A second tank supplies cleaning fluid to, and receives cleaning fluid with residual material from, the second cleaning station. The second tank also supplies cleaning fluid to the first tank.

In one aspect, height signals indicative of relative marking fluid levels in a marking fluid tank reservoir are generated. A measure of marking fluid flow rate is computed based upon multiple height signals generated during at least a portion of a startup period extending from a time when flow of marking fluid to the imaging assembly is insubstantial to a time when marking fluid in the marking fluid tank reservoir reaches a substantially steady-state level.

摘要: A method for registration of print separations in a printer comprising: (a) printing a first pattern, for which at least one image characteristic varies relatively weakly with misregistration, using at least one of first and second separations; (b) printing a second pattern, for which said at least one image characteristic varies relatively strongly with misregistration, using said at least one first and second separations; (c) determining said at least one image characteristic for the first and second patterns; and (d) correcting the mutual registration of said at least one first and second separations responsive to a difference in the determined at least one image characteristic for the first and second patterns.

According to one arrangement, a hard imaging device includes a pen adjacent to a first location of a media path and configured to eject a plurality of droplets of a liquid marking agent in a direction towards the media moving along the media path to form hard images using the media, the ejection of the droplets of the liquid marking agent from the pen creating aerosol droplets of the liquid marking agent, and a gas injection system adjacent to a second location of the media path which is downstream from the first location with respect to a direction of movement of the media along the media path, and wherein the gas injection system is configured to inject a gas towards the media.

According to one arrangement, a hard imaging device includes a media transport system configured to move media along a media path and a print device adjacent to the media path. The print device may include an image forming device configured to eject a plurality of droplets of a liquid marking agent in a direction towards the media moving along the media path to form hard images using the media, wherein the ejection of the droplets of the liquid marking agent from the image forming device creates puddles of the liquid marking agent on the image forming device and a puddle removal system configured to remove the puddles of the liquid marking agent from the image forming device.
