摘要： Taste recognition is performed by letting a solvent flow through a holding section which holds an object to be recognized and measuring the solvent which has flowed through the holding section by a taste sensor. If the flow rate of the solvent is set at about 1 ml/min, the solvent whose quantity is almost equal to that of saliva secreted in a mouth can be supplied to the object to be recognized, and hence the taste recognition can be performed by the taste sensor.

摘要： The present invention provides a powder compacting apparatus including: a die having a through hole forming a cavity; a first punch and a second punch for pressing a rare-earth alloy magnetic powder filled in the cavity; and a magnetic field generator for applying an orientation magnetic field parallel to a pressing direction through the rare-earth alloy magnetic powder in the cavity, wherein at least one of the first and second punches and has a curved pressing surface, and the pressing surface is given a shape such as to suppress the movement of particles of the rare-earth alloy magnetic powder along the pressing surface during the pressing step.

摘要： A rare-earth alloy powder pressing apparatus comprises a die. The die includes a die main body. The die main body includes a through hole for formation of a cavity, and an auxiliary yoke. A rare-earth alloy powder is fed into the cavity. A correcting yoke is disposed near the die, on a side from which a compact is taken out, and an orienting magnetic field is applied. At this time, the correcting yoke is disposed on an upper side of the die if the compact is to be taken out from the upper side of the die whereas the correcting yoke is disposed on a lower side of the die if the compact is to be taken out from the lower side of the die, an inward side surface of the correcting yoke and an inward side surface of the auxiliary yoke are made flush with a plane vertical to a direction in which the orienting magnetic field is applied, and the correcting yoke is urged toward the die. Then, the rare-earth alloy powder is pressed by an upper punch and a lower punch to form a compact. The correcting yoke and the auxiliary yoke may be made integrally with each other.

摘要： A magnetic disk drive apparatus includes a base plate and a first motor mounted on the base plate. The first motor has a rotatable shaft engageable with a magnetic disk for rotating the magnetic disk. A carrier has a central opening through which the shaft of the first motor extends. A magnetic head fixed to the carrier is engageable with the magnetic disk. Opposite sides of the carrier is slidably supported on the base plate. A second motor mounted on the base plate has a rotatable shaft. The carrier and the shaft of the second motor are coupled so that the carrier slides linearly in accordance with rotation of the shaft of the second motor.

摘要： An image display unit and a method of detecting an object which are capable of reliably detecting an object with a simple structure irrespective of use conditions are provided. Invisible light is emitted from a screen of a display portion. The invisible light reflected from a target object which comes in contact with or close to the screen is received on the screen. On the basis of the received invisible light, the target object is detected. Thus, the target object can be reliably detected without influence of the display state of the display portion, and influence of use conditions such as surrounding circumstances (the case where it is bright or dark). Moreover, for example, it is not necessary to separately arrange a component such as a touch panel, so the image display unit can be achieved with a simple structure.
