Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein enable synchronization of a user equipment (UE) identifier between a UE and a base station upon UE identifier reallocation, which enables the UE to use preconfigured uplink resources to reduce latency, reduce signaling overhead, or the like. For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein enable the UE to use preconfigured uplink resources when a UE identifier reallocation occurs between preconfigured uplink resource configuration and use of the preconfigured uplink resources by the UE to transmit uplink data.

Abstract: A first control node may communicate with a user equipment (UE) using an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network, and a second control node may manage a configuration of the IAB network. The second control node may not have the information needed to configure the IAB network, such as quality of service (QoS) information associated with a data radio bearer (DRB) used for communications between the first control node and the UE, and thus may not be able to configure a user plane interface tunnel and/or a radio link control (RLC) channel to assist with satisfying the QoS level. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein enable the second control node to receive QoS information associated with setting up a user plane interface tunnel between the first control node and an IAB node that serves a UE for which the user plane interface tunnel is being set up.

Abstract: Aspects relate to measurement and event reporting from a distributed unit (DU) of a disaggregated base station to a central unit (CU) of the disaggregated base station. The CU can configure the DU with a measurement configuration associated with at least one value to be obtained by the DU and a reporting configuration for reporting the at least one value to the CU. The measurement reports can be sent by DU periodically or the measurement reports can be event-triggered based on the reporting configuration. In addition, the measurement reports can be UE-specific or DU/cell-specific. The measurement reports may include random access channel (RACH) reports, uplink measurement reports, radio link protocol (RLC) reports, medium access control (MAC) protocol reports, and other types of measurement or event-based reports.

In some aspects, a user equipment may select at least one target node for a radio resource control connection, wherein the user equipment is in a particular radio resource control communication state when the at least one target node is selected, and wherein the user equipment is configured to communicate using dual-connectivity, wherein context information associated with the user equipment is stored by the user equipment, a master node associated with the user equipment, and a secondary node associated with the user equipment based at least in part on the user equipment being in the particular radio resource control communication state; and/or transmit information to the at least one target node or the master node to cause the context information to be provided to the at least one target node. Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to determining a new multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration for a MBMS that is backward compatible with a legacy MBMS configurations. A base station determines a MBMS configuration. The MBMS configuration includes at least one non-optional field that indicates compatibility with a first user equipment (UE) having a first MBMS capability or compatibility with a second UE having a second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration also includes a sub-carrier spacing indication for a MBMS corresponding to the first MBMS capability or the second MBMS capability. The MBMS configuration is broadcasted to the first UE and the second UE.

Abstract: Aspects encompassing public land mobile network (PLMN) configurations are disclosed. In one example, first and second PLMN configurations are determined, and a parameter having a common identifier between a hybrid PLMN and a PLMN from a different PLMN configuration is identified, such that the hybrid PLMN may connect with a first or second core network type. Inclusion of the common identifier is limited to either the first or second PLMN configuration via an index, and the first and second PLMN configurations are transmitted. In another example, first and second PLMN configurations are received, and a hybrid PLMN in one of the two PLMN configurations is selected. A determination is made whether to use the hybrid PLMN to connect with a first or second core network type. Whether a hybrid PLMN parameter was ascertained via the first or second PLMN configuration is reported. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

With a generic position method, a common set of procedures, messages, and parameters may be defined that are applicable to multiple RATs and that do not require a location server to know in advance the serving RAT for a target UE.

Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for a core network signaling to a base station a delay budget configuration that indicates a determined latency for communications between a core network, base station, and a user equipment (UE). In some cases, the core network may determine a first variable delay budget between the core network and a base station based on capability information associated with the wireless communications system. The core network may transmit the delay budget configuration to the base station, where the delay budget configuration may include the first delay budget. The base station may be able to determine a delay between the UE and the base station based on the delay budget configuration. Using the delay budget configuration, the base station may then schedule communications with the UE.

Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed toward enabling location support for 5G New Radio (NR) wireless access by a user equipment (UE) by utilizing existing LTE location support. More specifically, LTE positioning protocol (LPP) messages may be communicated between a UE with NR wireless access and a location server (e.g. an LMF) in a 5G Core Network via an NG-RAN. The LPP messages may support RAT-independent and E-UTRA position methods by the UE such as A-GNSS or OTDOA for E-UTRA. The location server may obtain OTDOA related information from eNBs and ng-eNBs supporting LTE wireless access. A UE may request measurement gaps from a 5G base station (e.g. gNB) in order to obtain measurements for RAT-independent and E-UTRA position methods and may request an idle period in order to obtain LTE timing needed for E-UTRA measurements.
