摘要: The invention provides a color liquid crystal panel which has a liquid crystal placed between a first substrate and a second substrate, the first substrate having formed thereon a plurality of color filter films and transparent electrodes and the second substrate having formed thereto a transparent electrode. It also has first light-shielding layer sections. formed on the first substrate either in the same layer as the color filter film or in a layer at the substrate side from the color filter films, without contacting the color filter films. It further has second light-shielding layer sections formed in a layer at the liquid crystal layer side from the color filter films. Light is completely shielded by the first light-shielding layer sections and/or the second light-shielding layer section(s) between the color filter films. Such a color liquid crystal panel is highly effective in shielding the gaps between the color filter films, and is less reflective to external light or the like at the display surface.

The method comprises the steps of: concurrently mixing and blowing a polyurethane material to produce a foamed polyurethane resin composition with a multiplicity of closed cells, the polyurethane material including a reactive blowing agent, a volatile compound having a boiling point of not higher than 150.degree. C. and a molecular weight of not less than 70, an epoxy compound, and a carbon dioxide fixation catalyst, wherein the closed cells are filled with the volatile compound and carbon dioxide produced by a reaction of the reactive blowing agent with a polyisocyanate; and allowing the carbon dioxide to chemically react with epoxy groups of the epoxy compound in the presence of the carbon dioxide fixation catalyst to form a solid or liquid cyclic carbonate. The method gives a foamed material with the closed cells substantially filled with vapor of the volatile compound at a partial pressure of at least 5 mmHg at 25.degree. C.

摘要: A liquid crystal cell is prepared by bonding a pair of oppositely disposed electrode plates with a sealant of a one-pack type epoxy adhesive to define a space to be filled with a liquid crystal. In advance of the use, the one-pack type epoxy adhesive is modified with an amine-type room temperature hardener to selectively reduce a low-molecular weight fraction in the epoxy adhesive so as to avoid a sealant flow at an elevated temperature. This is particularly advantageous when the sealant is used in combination with a particulate adhesive which is disposed in the liquid crystal space and activated at such an elevated temperature to bond the electrode plates while keeping an accurate gap between the electrode plates.

摘要: A battery main body housed in a case comprises one laminated body composed of a plurality of bipolar electrodes laminated with an electrolyte layer therebetween or comprises a plurality of laminated bodies connected in series. A positive electrode current collecting plate and a negative electrode current collecting plate each having one surface joined to the inner peripheral surface of the case and the other surface joined to one end of the battery main body respectively extend to the outside of the case. By providing a cutoff mechanism for cutting off an electrical connection between the positive electrode current collecting plate and the negative electrode current collecting plate via the battery main body according to an expansion deformation of the case, a current path in a bipolar secondary battery is interrupted when the short-circuit current occurs, thereby protecting the bipolar secondary battery from a short-circuit current.

摘要: A 3D image capture device includes: a light transmitting member 2 with polarizing areas and a non-polarizing area; a solid-state image sensor 1 for receiving the light transmitted through the member 2; an imaging section 3 for producing an image on the imaging area 1a of the sensor 1; and an image generating section. The member 2 has n polarizing areas P(1), P(2), . . . and P(n) (where n is an integer and n≧2), each of which transmits only a light ray polarized in a particular direction, and a non-polarizing area P(n+1) that transmits any light ray irrespective of its polarization direction. Those n polarizing areas have mutually different transmission axis directions. The sensor 1 includes a pixel array, divided into pixel blocks each consisting of (n+1) pixels, and a filter array including n polarization filters arranged so as to face n out of the (n+1) pixels and having different transmission axis directions. The image generating section generates images based on the light rays that have entered the n polarizing areas and the non-polarizing area using pixel signals supplied from those pixels.

摘要: The solid-state image sensor of this invention includes an array of pixels and light-transmitting portions 30a, 30b, 30c, 30d. The array is divided into unit pixel blocks, each of which is made up of N pixels (where N is an integer that is equal to or greater than two). The light-transmitting portions are arranged so that each light-transmitting portion faces an associated one of the pixels. Each of the light-transmitting portions is divided into M striped areas (where M is an integer that is equal to or greater than two). The respective areas have had their optical transmittances set independently of each other. The arrangement pattern of the optical transmittances of the light-transmitting portions 30a, 30b, 30c, 30d vary from one block to another. The image capture device of the invention further includes a shifting section for shifting the image in a first direction on an imaging area, and reads pixel signals before and after the image is shifted, thereby generating an image, of which the resolution is higher than what is defined by the pixel pitch.
