摘要: The present invention provides a thermal insulating foamed material with excellent thermal insulating properties and a method of manufacturing the same. The method comprises the steps of: concurrently mixing and blowing a polyurethane material to produce a foamed polyurethane resin composition with a multiplicity of closed cells, the polyurethane material including a reactive blowing agent, a volatile compound having a boiling point of not higher than 150.degree. C. and a molecular weight of not less than 70, an epoxy compound, and a carbon dioxide fixation catalyst, wherein the closed cells are filled with the volatile compound and carbon dioxide produced by a reaction of the reactive blowing agent with a polyisocyanate; and allowing the carbon dioxide to chemically react with epoxy groups of the epoxy compound in the presence of the carbon dioxide fixation catalyst to form a solid or liquid cyclic carbonate. The method gives a foamed material with the closed cells substantially filled with vapor of the volatile compound at a partial pressure of at least 5 mmHg at 25.degree. C.

摘要: Conductive yarns and conductive wires having insulating properties at least on their surfaces are plain-woven as warps and wefts, thus manufacturing a unidirectionally conductive fabric in which neighboring conductive yarns are not electrically in contact with each other. A pair of electrodes is connected to ends of the conductive yarn, and polymeric insulating layers are laminated on both surfaces of the unidirectionally conductive fabric, thus manufacturing an electric heating sheet. Moreover, by forming polymeric covering layers having a thermal fuse function, a temperature-detecting function and a temperature controlling function on the unidirectionally conductive fabrics, highly durable and safe electric heating sheets are manufactured.

摘要: In the improved image forming method, an electrophotographic photoreceptor drum carrying an a-Si (amorphous silicon) photoconductor having a SiC (silicon carbide) is subjected to imagewise exposure to form a latent electrostatic image on the photoconductor, the latent image is then developed with a toner the particles of which are coated with a polymer having a cohesive energy constant G of at least 280, and the toner image formed on the photoconductor is adhesive-transferred onto an intermediate transfer element having an adhesive layer formed from an adhesive that is based on a urethane (meth)acrylic resin and which further contains at least one member selected from among an acrylic rubber, a saturated polyester resin and a fluorine-containing additive, with the toner image on the adhesive layer being retransferred onto a support to form a final image. To form a color image, this process including the retransfer step is repeated either three or four times depending on the number of colors to be reproduced. The toner image formed on the final support is such that is has been completely transferred form the photoconductor and hence has high contrast and quality in the absence of density unevenness and other defects.

摘要: This invention provides an electrically plastic device in which an electron conjugated polymeric semiconductor layer containing a mobile dopant is formed across a pair of electrodes and at least one gate electrode is provided between said pair of electrodes with an insulating layer or a high-resistance layer interposed along said electron conjugated polymeric semiconductor layer, so that the dopant distribution in said electron conjugate polymeric semiconductor layer is controlled through said gate electrode, thereby controlling the electrical conductivity of said electron conjugated polymeric semiconductor layer. The device utilizes the substantially large variation in the electrical conductivity of an electrically conductive polymer depending on its dopant concentration, thus allowing a high-gain neurochip to be constructed. The control method of the electrically plastic device in accordance with this invention is carried out in such a way that a positive or negative pulse voltage is applied to the gate electrode to control the dopant distribution in the electron conjugated polymeric semiconductor layer, thereby varying the conductivity thereof, which is used as a learning or reset operation so as to make said gate electrode at ground potential so that the pair of electrodes (source and drain) are driven into conduction.
